Default Anyone in Houston?

I am so depressed, and I hate Atlanta. I have been looking at places to possibly move..I want to live in a big city that is semi-near the ocean and has lots of opportunity for me to make a life for myself. Does anyone live in Houston? If so, do you like it? Is it a good place to live? I have been looking at rent and it actually seems cheaper than Atlanta. Right now, a 2 bedroom is $1,300. Anyway, just kind of curious.

1300 for a 2 bedroom?

Good god!

That is expensive for Texas in general, i guess not so much for the Houston area. You should live a little north of Houston like Spring or something, thats where i live and yea, the commute sucks but its much cheaper to live!
The weather sucks cause of the humidity but if you have AC its all good! There are cool people here, great places to live and work and all that stuff! Come on out! We will have a mini GTG!

Spring - eh?!
Well - if you ever have to visit Conroe Regional Medical Center - I designed the new ICU wing...you can't miss it!

There are a few more Houston folks on here...but they don't post that often.

Anna, nateandkismit (though I think he is out of the NB now), and of course Captain Otto

How is Dallas? I have been doing some research and San Antonio and Austin look good to me, too.

Well...Dallas isn't near any Ocean

I guess it depends on what business you are in...also - what types of activities that you enjoy.

Personally, I wouldn't have chosen Dallas and recently I have wanted to be anywhere else than this egocentric town. Sometimes it isn't bad. If you are into shopping and eating out alot - we have a great assortment of that. If you are looking for a great outdoor experience...Dallas doesn't have much that I am interested in, but then again I really don't look for that sort of thing. I think the main reason I don't think Dallas is the best place in the US is because I don't have really close friends in the area and I have been here 12 years.

I noticed that savethebluths.org is from Houston, maybe you can pm him and see what he things of Houston.

LOL i love you guys!

Texas is a great place, but i could never live in Dallas. Houston isnt my first choice either, but i've been here three months almost and thankfully i already have a small groupd of trustworthy (seemingly) friends that will hopefully last!

Move to Austin or San Antonio or Houston or a small town outside of the big towns for cheaper prices. Everywhere you go in TX is a commute, because its such a freaking huge state! On the map it looks small from Spring to Houston, but it takes freaking 45 minutes with no traffic!

Yeah - my folks just moved to Canyon Lake, just north of San Antonio.

I would prob like Austin more, but I keep hearing it is too conjested...that might just be what they say to keep people from moving there though.
