Wow, I work in Chino Hills (#21 on the safe list)... that's nice to know!
But San Bernardino (#24 on the bad list) is not too far down the freeway! It is comforting that most of the safe Cali places are not too far from me.

Wow, I can't believe Chicago's not on the list. I thought it would for sure be in the top five safest

Oh, BTW I am, thank goodness too, 30 some odd miles from B'ham in a very quaint little town.
I would swear I live in Mayberry! Very good place to live, but its sad to see where I grew up is that high up on the list. ![]() |

Atlanta #17...not as high up as I would have thought. Roswell, Ga #18...good to know. I've been there a few times.
![]() How ironic that the 2 cities represented in the World Series were #1 & #2. ![]()

I'd like to congratulate NJ for making multiple showings in BOTH categories.
I believe Camden, NJ also has the highest murder rate in the country. I would like to also mention that Brick, NJ is the next county south of me and is safe because of the amount of senior citizens living there. I don't think 90yr olds are throwing gang signs and poppin caps in people's asses.

As a father with a daughter off in college, it's nice to know that Irvine is #7 on the safe list.
Not that anywhere is totally safe, but every little bit of reassurence is helpful.

After having lived in Michigan for 4 years, I'd put Flint at #1 and leave Detroit 2nd. I notice the Pittsburgh didn't make the list so it must be a neutral on the safety scale.

To be honest, I am shocked at the St. Louis rating. I visit that city quite often to see my beloved WORLD SERIES CHAMPION CARDINALS play!!!
And we walk around all over downtown and don't feel in danger at all Now East St. Louis is another story...so I don't know if they are including that or what, but to me STL is plenty safe.

I can't believe Baltimore isn't higher up on the dangerous list...
Glad to hear that Cary, NC is on the safe list. I love Cary and have thought about eventually living there one day. Makes me happy!

I moved from the 13th most unsafe city to being neighbors with the 8th most safe city (weird, they were 5th last year).

Hooray Broken Arrow! Not only is it the 20th safest, but the name of the town freakin' rocks!!!
A few months ago my mom moved from here to a suburb of St. Louis. I know, suburbs don't count, but that's not the point. BigSexyTDI, I totally agree with you. Well, almost totally. Thought I've never had an actual bad experience there, I've been through the areas of town where I'm sure they happen. My sister-in-law was teaching at an elementary school that was sporting razor-wire. I hear that Detroit was so upset with their #2 rating that they had huge riots. Take that, Eminem!

So the team representing the most dangerous city beat the team from the second most dangerous city to claim the World Series, eh?

I swear that San Bernardino should be higher up on that danger zone list! Baldy even gets scared when he goes there and he fights crime in the ghetto!

I use to date a girl from Camden, N.J. and she was quite possibly the strongest female I've ever met. Gary, IN isn't that bad - if you can get past the sniper with a pellet gun to get there! He's been blasting out windows on Cline Ave. for a few months now.
