Default Desperate Housewives

So the 'LOST' thread stays really active, and while I really enjoy watching Lost every Wednesday, I absolutely love Desperate Housewives even more. Maybe it's because it has more sex appeal (Thank you Eva Longoria!) or because...nevermind, it just has more sex appeal. Oh, and humor, ya can't forget the cheesey humor.

I think this show has a lot to offer besides just sex appeal. There's mystery (who's locked in the basement?), humor (What dim-witted thing will Susan do/say next), and of course, the drama. (Lots of drama)

Another thing I have noticed is that this season doesn't seem to be as "spicey" as last season. I got to watch all over season 1 back to back on DVD and there was always something that made me very anxious to pop the next DVD in. This season, things just seem to be progressing more slowly. The biggest suspense I have seen thus far is Gabriella's baby's daddy situation and Rex's sudden death after the pharmacist poisoned him.

Anyone else a fan?

I find that Lost is a bit like that too - last season it was humming along and now they've pulled it back a bit to get some longevity out of it. You can't fault the writing though - it's brilliant and the black comedy aspect is really refreshing.

I can't help thinking of an old joke when I watch it "Why the long face Susan?"

I've got to confess, I'm the real father.

Let's keep this under wraps, I haven't told my wife yet.

I'm very much enjoying the second season of this show. Maybe not as much "mystery" yet, but definitely up there on the comedy!

Susan just cracks me up. She's always screwing up something. I loved her chasing Zack while carrying the ice cream.

And the mom (Lynette?) with the imaginary friend. Heh heh. Poor imaginary nanny got run over by the garbage truck.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still LOVIN' the show, but it doesn't seem as suspenseful as it was last season. Its probably because I had gotten use to seeing them all at one time, and now I have to wait a week in between.

I've never seen the show, but I bet if you watch them in succession, the story line seems more tightly focused than having to wait a week between shows.

We watch both, but Desperate definately has lost something. Still worth the hour investment, but not as good as last year IMO.

I like the show, but last season it was something else. Now, this season, it's missing something. I am not sure what.

Now Grey's Anatomy...that is a show that is getting better this year.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what I missed in the last 15 minutes tonight? The phone rang right as Bree was strolling Rex out and my guess she was just going to dump him somewhere, but I'm not sure. I saw where Susan's friend kissed her and she stormed out...I'm dying to know what I missed and how next week's episode is shaping up. PPPPPPPLLLLLLLEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEEE

I think Bree is over her husband. She buried him near a dump, or something...because he thought that she poisoned him...and let's see...Susan's agent is all alone...and it seems as if crazy pharmacist is going to get Bree next week.

Thanks TJ! Did they ever show who was getting the mail at Zack's house? My guess was his dad. I saw where they finally showed who was in the basement and what he had apparently done, but what I don't get is why the woman keeping [her son??] locked downstairs would write a letter to the police dept. saying they had arrested the wrong man. A couple weeks ago, they were beating him in the head with a gun, and this week they were being all nice and protective?

That pharmacist creeps me out. Not just because he killed Rex (not that doing so wasn't reason enough) but how he acts in general. How did Gabriella convince Carlos (or did she) to keep the lawyer?

Okay.
Yes, it's Zack's dad. How he got back into town...I dunno.
Seems the writers have had a change of heart about the person in the basement...he looked older in an earlier episode. Now he is the son...And a person who may be retarded, and killed someone...

Gaby got Carlos the lawyer, by being sexy. But not how you think. The lawyer tells Carlos, that if he turns him down to be his lawyer, he would then go after Gaby, and have sex with her. BUT, if Carlos is his client, he can't do that, since that would be a breach of ethics.

Far out, huh? So Carlos like that, I guess, and hires him to be his attorney. Tonight's episode was far better then the other ones this season, IMHO.

And it would have to be the night for me to take an important phone call. I expect that after next week we'll see some re-runs, so I can catch up on what I missed.

I'm glad Lynette's boss finally got some tension relief!

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Page Kennedy, who plays a fugitive from the law on "Desperate Housewives," was fired from the hit ABC drama for improper conduct, a series spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Kennedy, who joined the show this season, was let go Friday after a "thorough investigation by the studio" of the allegations against him, publicist Janet Daily said. "Desperate Housewives" is produced by Touchstone Television, part of The Walt Disney Co.

Details of the allegations were unavailable, Daily said. A call by The Associated Press to Kennedy's agent for comment wasn't immediately returned Tuesday.

The alleged misconduct didn't involve another cast member, a source close to the production said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Kennedy played Caleb, a character shrouded in mystery and seen only briefly as he was held captive in the basement of Wisteria Lane newcomer Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodard). In the October 23 episode, it was revealed that Caleb may be responsible for a teenager's murder in Chicago.

The role of Caleb is being recast, Daily said. Kennedy's final appearance on the ABC series is Sunday.

In an Associated Press interview last month, Kennedy, 28, said the "Desperate Housewives" role represented the chance of "making a name for myself."

He was so intent on joining the show, he said, that he passed on other jobs, including a recurring role on Showtime's "Barber Shop" and parts on WB's upcoming Rebecca Romijn series, "Pepper Dennis," and on UPN's "Love, Inc."

"I needed this opportunity to play this kind of character," Kennedy said. "It isn't the kind that comes around often and it's usually played by a name (actor). This is an opportunity for me to showcase all the years of training I've had."

The Detroit native had appeared in the HBO series "Six Feet Under" as a football player who died of heat stroke and made his film debut as a bad guy in 2003's "S.W.A.T." He's in the movie "In the Mix," which is set to open on his birthday, November 23.

"Desperate Housewives," among the top-rated series with about 25 million viewers weekly, represents "the biggest exposure I'll have gotten," Kennedy told the AP. He lauded Woodard as his favorite actress, and said the rest of the cast "has been so sweet and nice to me."

My guess would be that he blabbed about the plotline...It'll come out in the next day or two.
