Default Nissan audio help?

Hey, my friend has a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE-r and his girlfriend wants to put in an Ipod hook up for him for christmas.

He doesn't want an FM transmitter, and has no tape deck for that type of thing, he wants something to connect to the radio so that it has like cd player sound, so should she get him a new stereo? or is there a way to hook it up?

Also how would I know if the stereo would fit the stock speakers? Any help would be very very very much appreciated thanks so much guys!

If this car has front pillar speakers, it can use a line in or iPod adapter connected to the CD changer input. If it doesn't have the front pillar speakers, then the only option with a factory radio is a FM Modulator.
