Default My NB was a fruiting victim

I took one my coworkers out for lunch today as tomorrow is her last day at work...she is retiring (lucky!) We went to a deli at a major shopping center around the corner from the office. When we returned to the car I found that someone had smeared orange, yes as in the fruit, all over the driver's side of my car. The remains of the orange were on the ground next to it. Who in the hell fruits up a car??????

Someone with a strange fascination with Mrs. Doubtfire.

Dang, that bites!! Some people are STOOOOPID!!!! :CUSS:

Hopefully, you were able to wash it off before the acid did any damage to the paint.

I was able to get it cleaned off. What I don't get is the shopping center is downtown and about 90% of the people that are there are working class business people. It's an old outdoor mall that got converted to business offices and restaurants. That's not to say a kid couldnt have come along and done it. The car's bone stock so there's nothing that stands out about it to attract someone to damage it. People suck sometimes.

sorry to hear about your fruiting i was at the movies and someone had egged my car. the worst part is i parked behind a sign really close so they must have ran up and jumped on the hood and threw the egg, it was the olny way it would be possable, when i looked closer you could see a scratch in a perfict circle like a shoe hit it and spun people are stupid, id much rather them hit me than my bug. i even have a "force of good" air freshener in my front window, so they had to be bad, bad people!!!

Even if you were able to get off all the juice before it hurt your paint, I'd still hit it up with a coat or 2 of wax. Everything I've ever used with citric acid in it wears away wax.

Join the orange/egg/key club Aren't people such turds?!

I once came out from a parking lot and someone had thrown their pink smoothie at my back wheel and it splattered all over the back of my car. It was dried and sticky when I got there so it was a pain to get off.

Eggs are bad too. I was pulling out of a parking lot one night in my old Neon and a Civic hatch was pulling into the driveway. My windows were down. I heard CRACK CRACK SMACK! The SMACK! was an egg hitting me right in the face. The eggs that hit the hood and fender left splat-shaped chips in my paint. I try my best not make enemies but sometimes people do stupid random things like this for no reason.

I cleaned my car some mroe when I got home...buffed the left side and what not. From what I can tell the clearcoat looks fine.

my boyfriend's maxima wasa egged when he was driving home, it was some kids standing in a parking lot along a busy street. He had a scratch on the passenger side mirror and a u shaped chip on the hood, he touched it up with the paint, but he couldn't live with it and got a bra for it, glad your beetle wasn't seriously hurt. Where do we send get well fruit baskets?

Just envious juveniles, that's all. Got egged while driving through S.F. in Dec. in our Sienna.

Poor embryos ...

While following Herbie on the Herbie and Friends tour I was egged by a passing car (two lane road) and the egg get under the hood and onto the engine and the airbox. i was so ticked off it wasn't funny, sadly i couldn't u-turn and go after them.

Don't let those fruits get you down! At least they didn't rub your car with a coconut or something abrasive.

egg will stain paint, i went to the car wash right after i saw it and washed it 3 times, it dident wanna come off cause it was dryed or frozen.i was up till 3:30 am on a work night cleaning it off, so mad, anyways i think egg will stain, i got mine off right away, but i have a 70 baja bug and was getting it welded at a buddies house which is also a pro paint ball field, bad idea, they did target pratice on it and left it in the summer heat for a week till i came to work on it.it was stained and the paint was pealing off in some spots oh ya, paint balls are filled with vegtable oil! so i think eggs and fruit will do the same!
