AnnualCreditReport.com is the ONLY official site for requesting your free annual report as required by The Fair Credit Reporting Act.

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

Be very careful of similar-sounding sites. They either want to sign you up for a subscription, or are a scam. Check here for more info on Internet credit report scams.

Lots of good consumer info at the Federal Trade Commision site (FTC)

I've actually been able to get my credit report more than once within a year at AnnualCreditReport.com

If you want your score, you'll still have to pay for it. Oh and don't bother paying for that "VantageScore".. it's BS.

If you're looking to do some credit cleanup you can try checking out CreditBoards.com

I use myfico.com and use their Identity Theft solution - I get my FICO and credit report once every 3 months and it monitors any changes/updates to the info inside of it...very worth the $4.95/mo!

Be very careful. Some sites that look legit are actually scams.

You put in what you think is info to get a credit report, when in fact, they are phishing sites to gather personal information for identity theft. Do you really know who's behind these sites? Are you willing to bet your good name, not to mention a year or more to undo the damage to your credit history?

Just be aware there are criminals out there posing as legitimate credit report providers. Don't get taken in.

Yes, the $4.95/mo includes the score (FICO) every 3 months. If you work it out, it costs less than buying a report every 3 months with the score ($14.95/ea for report and score). I like the system b/c if there is a huge change or an account that gets opened, it alerts you to it, if you don't recognize it then you can report it on their site.

FICO is the official credit score used by lenders, developed by Fair Isaac Corporation. The site myfico.com is the official website for the FICO score and you can get reports from all 3 bureaus. I don't use the other sites to be on the safe side.

MyFico as JenBug suggested is a good one to go to.

I think you get all reports and all scores for $47? A small price to pay if you are getting ready to make a big purchase like a house/car.
