Default Led Zeppelin reunion?

There seems to be a lot of rumors going around on the internet and on the radio about a possible reunion tour with Led Zeppelin. Apparently John Paul Jones has been in touch with Jimmy and Robert, and he feels good about something happening.

I know Plant had concerns with the band playing without John Bonham, but the rumors are saying his son would play drums. I dunno, what do you all think? Does this seem possible? Would you pay a nice chunk of change to see them play? I know I would

Aye. Entwistle of The Who passed couple years back.

Maybe Zepplin and Pink Floyd and The Police can all do a reunion concert and charge $400 for nosebleeds. I kid. It'd be awesome. I'd be there.

No, Bonham died - the drummer.

You know they'd make a fortune if they went on tour again. I'm sure there's tons of people who would pay top dollar to see them play.

Here's the thing. Plant cannot sing live. JPJ is one of the best session men of all time or so i hear, but what has he done in the last decade, and can he still play? Is Page still playing well??

Page is (supposedly) releasing a new album this year. He seems to be up and running alright. I dunno about the rest of them.

You know what's a good alternative - there's a tribute band called ZoSo. I normally don't like tribute bands all that much, but these guys are amazing. They go out of their way to look and sound exactly like Zep, and they put on an amazing show. They are VERY good.

On that note... Jason Bonham is a hell of a drummer. Not near as good as dear ole dad, but he holds his own. If any of you watched the "Supergroup" show on Vh1, that was him. He also had a hair metal band called Bonham quite a few years ago (remember that video, G?).

Plant put one out last year... maybe '05... and it sounded pretty alright. The stuff I heard, anyways. With most all older singers, his voice is pretty much shot. So unless he REALLY works at putting that ****** into shape I don't think it'll be much of a show, just more of a novelty.

Page and Plant had that little tour back in the late 90s (I think) - I can't seem to find any videos right now, but I'm sure his voice wasn't 100%. It couldn't possibly be with his age combined with all the wailing he did years ago. But that doesn't mean the rest of them couldn't put on a good show.

My fingers are crossed.

Yes, Bill and I saw the Page/Plant tour, in about '95 and we were in awe. I am lucky to have seen Led Zeppelin in August, 1977!

Jason Bonham would do a great job in place of his father, the Master, John Bonham.

Yes, he's older, but still sexah!

Of all the classic rock bands I wished I had seen, but did not, Led Zep is up there.

I would buy a ticket, if I did not have to take out a loan to buy it.

I saw them and they were awesome! I also had tickets for the show that was canceled due to John's death. I returned them for a refund, big mistake. They would bring a small fortune right now. A few years ago I saw John Paul Jones perform. He still had it I would gladly pay to see them again. Bonhams son definately holds his own. Plant won't sound the same but who cares. And Page, I don't think he's lost it yet. This would be great to see but they've gone thru this before. They know it won't be the same and are reluctant to spoil the memories.

I've never seen Zepplin but I did see "The Song Remains the Same" Back in the day. The entire theater was like a rock concert....Let your imagination figure it out.

With music the way it is today, it would be a breath of fresh air to see Zep do a tour.

On a side note. One groug i've always wanted to see, Steely Dan, will be @ the Hard Rock in Orlando in May. I'm so there.

Back on topic, yes if Zep came around, i'd check em out.

Zeppelin was always one of my favorite bands as well. I grew up in the 70's. I haven't heard Plant in a while, but you know who can't sing anymore? Roger Daltrey! I got that latest Who CD for X-mas.....very disappointing. Anyway, the remaining members of Zep have got to be in their 60's...........Well, Jimmy Page is 63, I believe.

Shame about Daltrey. I did see them in Orlando back in the day. I believe it was their first farewell tour. Entwistle was still with us and Simon Phillips was playing drums.

Jimmy Page 63. Man time dosen't stand still. Heh, if the Stones can still do it, why not zep.

I also heard that David Lee Roth was coming back to tour with Van Halen. What's old is new again huh?

Resurrecting an old thread:

To those who say Plant cant sing live...I beg to differ. Check out Youtube for bootlegs of his current gig with Alison Krauss and also the Zepp reunion concert last November. Simply incredible.

Page was quoted in the last month or two, something to the effect of that they are all ready to go once they get their solo projects wrapped up. I hope its true, and I hope they come halfways close to MN.

I think I'd give my left nut to see them, I'll be there at any price.
