what? did you accidentally put a few zeros in there?

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

nope.

the car literally eats every waking dollar i have.

that figure includes storage space, dealer plate rental fee, and a couple other small ancillaries...so not ALL my money goes to it.

I have three cars all paid off (they're also older than 8yrs too :-).

For the NB, I have the following expenses:

Ins: $45/month
Fuel: probably around $80/month (in addition to my 50/day commute, I take at 1100mi trip every month)
Maintenance/Mods: Tint ($200), Vagcom ($230), Nozzles ($271), TB change ($300), TB kit ($300), three oil changes ($100), Tires ($270), Rims ($50), Bumper/Paint ($500) and 1/2 shaft($100). This all comes out to about $193/month for the past 12 months.
Upcoming maintenance/mods: Oil changes, RC3 or RC4 Tuning ($300), VNT17 Turbo ($1300), Clutch ($350), Clutch install ($200). Probably not in the near future for the turbo, but I've been known to lie.

We have 5 vehicles to pay for-- ick! And that's with teenagers/young adults in 3 of them.

1. Son's 2001 Explorer Sport 4WD. It's paid for, but we give him $115/month for gas and pay his outrageous insurance... but just until August-- he'll graduate with a masters in business tomorrow night and he already has a job. WOOOHOOOOOOOO!

2. Daughter's 2004 Ion Sport. We have it set up to make annual payments on.... not sure what we still owe. Of course, we pay her gas and insurance as well- she's in college too.

3. Daughter's 1999 NB 1.8Turbo, Speedy. I pay $238/month, with 11 more payments. Plus all gas and insurance- she's 16.

4. Hubby's 1997 F250 pickup. We'd love to replace it, but it's paid for. We try not to drive it if we don't have to, and he can usually fill both tanks and drive a full month.

5. My 2006.5 NB TDI, Putter. My payment is $501/month... which seems high, but I was paying $457/month on the Expedition, plus $80/week for gas Now, I spend about $80/month on diesel

I plan to keep the TDI long after it's paid off, and use the money I've been putting toward the car into home renovation or travel... we'll see!

'Sting' only runs me $194 a month in payments, and $73 a month in insurance (but that also includes renters insurance) so I'm only really paying about 60 a month for full coverage

Saturn vue= $435
Beetle= $200
Motorcycle= $75

My wife's employer gives her $400 per month for her car, which she needed to own for her employment.

So, a net of $310 for all 3 vehicles.
