Default Transformers

I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End tonight. It was amazing. Better than the first one even!

One of the previews was for the new Transformers movie coming out July 4th (how fitting!). Let me just say-- this preview almost made me crap my pants. It looks abso-frickin-lutely amazing. I am going on Youtube right now to see if I can watch it again-- it was a good long preview too, not just the teaser that has been floating around on the internet. The Decepticons in it were horrifying and soooooo big.

Who is psyched for this movie?

I have only one comment so far. I have not seen the clip.

Is there a VW in it at all? I know those bastards made Bumblebee NOT a Beetle.

Those bastards that didn't make bumblebee a Beetle is VW. VW was approached by Takara (sp?) that make all the transformer toys, to do an alernator version of Bumblebee as a VW New Beetle. VW told them to take a hike, that they don't want their brand associated with war, or anything having to do with violence.

So, the whole reason bumblebee is now a Camaro, and not a New Beetle, is all VW's fault.

Supposedly, their is a junk yard scene with the Camaro Bumblebee, and in the junkyard is a yellow old beetle. I have not seen the images to confirm this.

Actually, there is a nod to Bumblebee originally being a VW beetle! When you see Spike seeing Bumblebee in a used car lot for the first time, look who's he's parked next too..

(what can I say? I still have my Bumblebee transformer)

In one Transformers trailer, in the background on the screen, a HTTP address is seen. If you type that in, you get this goverment "top secret site" with evidence of tracking various
Transformers on earth. Some really cool stuff!

Type in http://www.sectorseven.org/

Then for the password, type: codeblack.

One of the cool things is video excerpt proof of transformers. Double click the red hard drive icon on the left side. The various "page" icons reveal all. The last is
really cool: it's bumblebee in original VW bug form caught on a underground garage camera. the geek in me runniths over!!!

That's actually good news. I wondered how they'd get past that. What about any of the other voices? There were a few celebs from the original animated movie who wouldn't be bad in the live action.

Anyone have a list of robots appearing aside from Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Bumblebee? I think i saw Jazz toys in Target. Can we get confirmation that there's no Arcee? She sucked IMO. I imagine they'd have to have Shockwave and Soundwave.

This is the list of the robots appearing in the movie (we won't really know until the movie hits theatres)

Autobots:
Optimus Prime
Bumblebee
Jazz
Ratchet
Ironhide

Decepticons:
Megatron
Starscream
Brawl
Bonecrusher
Skorpinok
Frenzy
Blackout
Barricade

Soundwave wasn't included because they couldn't figure out what to change him into. they didn't want to deal with the size differential between robot and cassette deck. Megatron can be changed into any type of large weapon... Shockwave could also be changed into any type of large weapon, but I don't think they are having any scenes of cybertron in this movie.

So few! I'm kind of shocked. I thought for sure they'd have a huge robot war. Still, if anyone recalls, the first episodes of the cartoon only had a handful of robots on each side.

Here's a link to a web site that has images for the different robots.

I'll show you mine, if you show me yours. I have a small collection of G-1 Transformers and Go-Bots... along with a couple of the newer alternator/binaltech along with 2 re-issue G-1s All of the G-1s except the re-issue are from my childhood.

I wish i had all of my transformers. All my childhood toys were destroyed in a fire. The only ones i have now are a reproduction Bumblebee from a keychain and a 25th anniversary Optimus Prime. However, i saw a Japanese large scale chromed out original style (but larger) Megatron for sale near me for $130 that i might need. He'd be so perfect standing next to Prime.

This is sort of what he looks like, but i have an older version with battle scars and mine does not have a display stand.

Looking at those pictures reminded me of a indelible Seinfeld episode in which Jerry keeps getting the girl he is dating drunk and sleepy so he can go over to her house and play with all the toys. I think at one point Elaine, Kramer and George are all there with the girlfriend passed out on the couch-- they are all playing with the toy collection. hahahaha

Yah, I want to play with your transformers. I had all the Dinobots (obsessed with Dinosaurs as a child) but now all I can find are Slag and Snarl. *sigh

FineExampl: Sorry to hear about the fire when you were younger... that must have been very traumatic.

I have the Japanese version of 20th Anniv. Prime. Slightly different than the American version. The Master Piece Series started with MP-01 20th Anniv. Optimus Prime, then MP-02 Ultra Magnus, MP-03 Starscream (Need to get this one, it looks really cool), MP-04 which is Prime with a trailer (it opens and has mechanics bay... I am really ticked off that they didn't sell MP-01 with the trailer), and MP-05 Megatron. Supposedly MP-06 will be Skywarp. Now, if they would just sell MP - Prime's trailer separately I would be happy.

My Transformers are saddly never played with. They sit on their shelf. Every so often I will take one down and see if I can remember how to change it. The rest of my office is shelves of scale cars, NBs, mustangs, RX-7s and Avalanches.... I stoped counting a while ago.

The Prize of my TF collection, are the 3 Jet Fires. They are all 100% complete. One was given to me, and the other 2 I bought at an estate auction for $25 for the pair. They are each worth around $300 in current condition.

The Shakwave is also highly prized. Mine is in working condition. Shakwave was put out by radio shack (As Galactic Man, but TF fans tend to call him Shakwave). it is identical to Shockwave except in color. I guess there are few of them around, and fans of Shockwave collect them as well. Another company put out a 3rd version that preceeded the transformers... in mint conditon is worth thousands of dollars.

I am sorry to hear about the fire. Many years ago my Nephew got into my box of stuff that I had left at my parents... within a short time all my Starwars and G.I. Joes were destroyed. The TFs were in a seperate box at my house... luckily...
