Make the crust a little crispier and add a little more sauce.

That is nearly my favorite, only I don't usually have bacon in it. I gotta try bacon now!

With the Pepperoni and Pineapple, you get the slightly spicy pepperoni and the sweet Pineapple. Yummy! Too bad I am having roasted turkey for dinner, or else I would be ordering one of those with bacon!

I like "Italian" pizza.
No pineapple, coconuts, fruit or berries, no whipped cream, chocolate shavings or fat back......good greif, what are you people eating out there.
Thats not pizza!

Call it "Stuff I like on Pizza Dough"

Pure Italian stuff for me, but no anchovies, thats fish.

But I will add Italian bread with dipping oil and a gallon of Aquafina. Viva Italia!

So what is pure "Italian" stuff then? I can think of sausage, but what else?

When my hubby was in Italy he had the real deal and said it was wonderful.
It had fresh veggies(red and green bell peppers, sweet onions, Portabella s'rooms, black olives and sweet basil Italian sausage, and the best seasoning he's ever had and fluffy dough.

They thought he was kidding about the pineapple and such.

The best pizza I have ever had was at a shop in Downtown Birmingham called Little Italy. Real Italian cooks, tossing the dough in the window, the whole thing. Pizza Hut, Papa John's and Dominoes just don't compare.

I have to go make me some Tortilini and Alfrado now.

Ah! Too many veggies for me though.

Have you done a chicken alfredo pizza yet? I haven't made one in a long while. Instead of tomato pizza sauce, you use Creamy alfredo sauce and grilled shredded chicken smothered in mozzarella. Now that is good stuff!

Thumbs up

Okay look...Tom...what the heck is wrong with you man? That is some of the worst pizza combos i've ever heard. Blech! Amanda...corn??? Ewwww!

It's not what's ON the pizza, but the quality of your crust/sauce combo. The crust should be slightly firm and/or crispy on the underside and lush and flavorful on the topside while not being too thin (figure about a half inch at least). The sauce should be a straight tomato/olive oil sauce with minimal seasoning consisting of FRESH basil, salt, and pepper. No oregano in the sauce as it's just too much. It should'nt be too sweet either and throw the sauce out if it's sour at all. Cheese should be a whole milk mozzarella perhaps with a touch of Parmesan. Cheese should be used sparingly as too much will not brown properly.

As far as toppings? Bacon is nice. Sausage is always great. Olives, peppers, onions. I once has a "scampi" pizza with some real garlic-y shrimp that was pretty nicely done.

I'm from Jersey people. I'm a pizza snob. Around the block from where i grew up there were 3 pizza shops all in the same block. Like NY we have great pizza on every corner.

My town the best places to go: Palumbo's in Holmdel; Romeo's in Port Monmouth; and Luigi's in Hazlet (for square pies only)

And for you non-tri-staters...Papa John, Pizza Hut, and Dominos are NOT pizza! That's just corporate mass production crapola!

Didn't I kinda say that? Except for the, um, "unique" toppping comments?

BTW, if you're ever out of the Tri-State area (except Massachusetts), and you see a pizzeria with a neon sign that reads, "New York Pizza." stay far away. It's right up there with donut shops' signs that read, "World's Greatest Coffee."

For real.

I have to say i did get AWESOME pizza in northern massachusetts around Lowell i think. Might have even been southern new hampshire, it's been so long. They billed it as Greek style pizza. It was just this little mom&pop joint in the middle of nowhere, but the pizza was perfect. I wish i was still dating the girl who took me there. She knew all the cool stuff like that and where to find it.
