Chat help?

Hey peeps, Not sure if this is the right area or not, but ever since getting my new computer with Windows Vista I cannot log in to the Chat room and it's driving me nuts!! I'm just trying to get in through this site like I've always done but when it gets to the room it just says connecting to server and that's it. I saw that someone recommended downloading Chatzilla if we use FireFox (which I do) but I can't figure out how to get that to work...but it doesn't work with the new Explorer I have either does ANYONE have any suggestions? Love you all

anyone have any clues as to why the trillian directions show that I should be able to connect via IRC but when I follow the directions I can ONLY choose to connect via AIM Yahoo MSN or ICQ? I'm getting so mad...I just wanna chat!!! UGH
