That is why the original dash is matte black.. to avoid that awful glare.

Do you DRIVE like that?!?! How can you even see the road?

According to people that paint their dash bright glossy colors, you get used to it.

Eh, the great reflective properties of the windshield help my head-up-display work really well!

Glare was a real problem for me when I first got Ladybug.
Even with the factory black dash.
I work swing shift, so I drive in a lot of sunrise/sunset conditions. Then I got my dash mat. Problem solved
