As much as I love my beetle... I think I might sell it... I just started back to school, and won't be working as much, and car payments and insurance are just so overwhelming.

Welcome to the club. I drive about 5 miles a week, and my battery keeps dying because of it.

Lets see.... $200/20 equals $10/mile not including insurance, and gas.

Noooooo.

That said... If you think it's pricey now, then yes, sell it. The sooner the better. (Cause imagine once something breaks.)

I hate to recommend it, but I bet you've made a wise decision based on your current circumstances.

You can always adopt another beetle further down the line.

It sucks to have to make that decision, but you gotta do what is best for you. There's no law that says that if you sell it--you can never buy another one!! It took me a long time to realize that I needed to sell mine, even though I still have regrets, but I will have one again someday!!

I'm paying about $400 a month to drive my car. starting next week im only going to be working about 24 hours a week. It really sucks. I'm going to put it up for sale while driving it. I'm looking for something else, something early to mid 90s. I'm going to try and find another VW that I can afford without emptying out my bank account every month. Something I can pay off.

Best of luck to you! I know how tough it can be just to keep these going strong, adding payments to that just adds to the misery.

As everyone has said, you can get back to the Beetles once your other costs shrink and the income increases!

but wha'? wait! It's still practically new, and it hasn't even been a year since you've been on here?
I think you just need a good ol' garage sale, or lemonade stand, or start selling bootleg Rap CD's out of your trunk to keep the good times rolling!
oh wells...
Best wishes with whatever you do!
