Default Dinner with Marvin

So I'm moving to Dallas and have spent the last week looking for a house. (I think we found one; sent a contract, waiting for them to sign it, the owner has agreed to it via phone, now needs to fax signatures). Anyway. On Thursday night Antoine and I had dinner with Pam and child and my wife LN. Here are some pics. More to come. We ate at La Hacienda Ranch. It was seriously YUMMY!®

After dinner we went through the tropical storm, and arrived at MARVIN'S PAD, which is a really cool house (said the man who has seen 42 houses in less then five days). I mean, someone should brag on this man and his mad skillz when it comes to building stuff. It's awesome.

Well, we may have (with the 4th one we have offered on), got a contract. In theory. We have agreed, and we have signed off on it, and the owner has agreed, just has to sign off. We know he is Branson Missouri, and will be faxing the papers back this Friday morning. He better. Or we will have to have a 11th hour choice in place.

And no DIN today either; server is messing up.

My hair looks awesome!...and no, we didn't plan the red shirt thing.

TJ and his wife are fun to talk to...and IN PERSON! LOL
First time to meet Ellen and second to meet TJ...usually we just call each other and geek out about LOST and such.

TJ - now I know why I thought Ellen was a nurse...you write out her name as "LN" - Licensed Nurse...let her know that I'm not nutz! LOL

Looks like we are going to have some cool neighbors...if they get that fax today!

TJ - how did the iPhone photo of Aiden and I come out?

15 more minutes and I have to leave for the airport. And no fax yet. Seems that the guy who owns the house, is dead, so there is two sons who now have to sign off on it. Trust fund. And now I have 11 minutes, and still no answer.

The guy died in Branson?

I guess you always have the eclectic yellow house as a fall back if you can contact them when they get back today from Rome.

No need.
We found this charming little house, located in a little town called LEWISVILLE. It has great shade, lovely trees, a red door. I like red doors.

It’s about 1000 square feet larger then what we are in now, with three bedrooms, two baths, two living areas, a fireplace, large kitchen, large two car garage...it’s got a pool and hot tub...just great. And had been on the market for over 188 days.

We placed an offer, and long story short, they agreed to it and signed the papers literally about five minutes before I got on the plane to head to South Florida.

So we have a contract on the home. Two of the three obstacles have been cleared (credit, and inspection), so we just need the house to appraise at the value of the sale in order for the house to be cleared for closing.

Here are some pics:

Nice home! How close is it to the lake? Whenever I fly into DFW from Fresno, the approach into DFW brings us right over that community (and the lake) and I'm envious of the people who live on the lake. I had family who recently lived in Plano and recently moved to Denver.

Yes - he is between Lake Grapevine and Lewisville Lake and only a few minutes from the TNBRU show site (I don't think that was part of the consideration though. )

My Aunt/Uncle live in Lewisville as well...I think we calculated that it his place is about 12 miles north of mine and we will be over there every afternoon to use that pool

Justin - come on down!
