So, for some this may seem weird....and I'm really just writing to get all these feelings out.

I have been a die-hard Rent fan since 1997, falling in love with the OBC. I have seen the show multiple times and I even slept outside in Washington, DC to get $20 front row tickets back when they did that....10 years ago. I have followed this show almost since it's inception and I can honestly say that Rent got me through my freshman year of college.

Now, let me also say that I have been in love with Adam Pascal, the original Roger, since this obsession with Rent began. Well, as luck would have it, he signed on to do 6 weeks of Rent this summer with Anthony Rapp, the original Mark. So, my best friend flew in from Florida so that we could *finally* see them together.

First off, this was not the first time I have tried to see Adam on Broadway. I bought tickets back in Nov. of 1997 to see him do his last show as Roger. Well, a day after I bought tickets, he moved up his last show by 28 days and I missed him.

As luck would have it, he signed on to do Aida, another musical. I went out and bought House Seats to see him in this role. Again, as luck would have it, he was on vacation that week, so again, I missed him.

So last night I went to NYC....amazed that my 10 year old dream was finally gonna come true. I walked into the Nederlander (the theatre at which Rent is) and immediately walked to a playbill to find that Adam was not there last night. Three strikes, you're out, i guess My heart broke and the tears started streaming down my face. I couldn't help it. The ten years of waiting and hoping to see this one performer and to have him not there on my night was too much for me.

I guess not seeing him was meant to be, but it doesn't take away the pain of how much money I have spent just to see him perform on Broadway. This was my one *big* thing this summer. I didn't go on vacation....all I wanted was to see him in Rent and for him to not be there, is just tearing my insides apart.

I'm completely devestated by this....

*hugs* Karen. I know when I spoke to you on IM last night I could tell how sad you were by this.

Who knows what could happen though. If you keep wanting to see him enough, you just might one day.

I dont know what else to say except I hope you do get to see him one day. Why was he not in Rent last night? Is he done with his 6 weeks early or was he just off for the night?

Honestly Amy, I don't know why he wasn't there. I'm not sure I ever will know. I hope it wasn't anything serious, but at the same time, I hope it was because just him taking the day off is not enough of a reason. This show hasnt sold out in years and it's completely sold out for these 6 weeks.

My friend and I put a lot of thought into buying these tickets, trying to buy the safest time. We didn't want to buy when the 6 weeks engagement started because what if they pushed it back. We didn't want to buy it when the engagement was almost over because what if they left early. We settled on a Friday night 2 weeks into the run....because everybody is there on Fridays, usually.

I know that I only drove an hour from my house and there was a girl there whose mom bought her tickets just because Adam was there for her college graduation. She flew in from Dallas, TX to see him and he wasnt there. I know that I'm not the only one upset by this, but 10 years is a long time to remain faithful.

There seriously has to be someone you can contact about this. I know if you join IMDB pro you can get his contact info. They usually have a 14 day free trial and you wont get charged if you cancel it before its up. Get his number and give him hell!!

I wrote him a message on his music myspace....and explained my situation. I know there are people in the same situation as me, if not worse as people flew in from all over to see him. And I try to keep making myself feel better about this.

I'm thinking about calling the Neder and asking them if there is anything they can do, but at the same time, I'm kinda tired of spending money on Broadway tickets for the same show over and over again.

I know for many this is a silly little problem....and even my parents think i'm slightly unhinged

You should track him down and leave a bag of flaming dog poo on his porch.

Trust me, I've thought of tracking him down and kicking him somewhere.

I've thought about finding him when he tours as a singer and writing a poster that reads:

Tickets to Nov. 30, 1997 performance of Rent: $80
Tickets for House Seats to see Aida: $!00
Tickets for Rent, again: $80

Not seeing you ANY of those times because your didn't show: PRICELESS

No, no, no... He's supposed to kick out the flaming dog poo, not you.

I don't know who he is, but I can see that you are disappointed. So sorry you have missed him so many times.
