Default Best wireless router for both Mac and PC

Hi all,

I tried searching the forum but didn't see any threads on this so forgive me if I missed them.

Anyone have a favorite wireless router that works with both Mac and PC?

I tried Linksys years and years ago, which was a nightmare at the time. Belkin setup was easy but it's now 3-years-old and dropping connections all the time.

Is NetGear or D-Link any good for both?

Thanks in advance!

i'm using an apple AirPort...works great...imagine some of the other choices probably work as well for less money

I use the one supplied by AT&T that is also the DSL router. It's a 2Wire, whoever makes that.

I've had really good luck with Linksys, the Apple one was just too expensive at the time. We've had really bad luck with D-Link in my family though. I bought 3 of them on sale a few years ago, I kept one, and used 2 for Christmas gifts. None of them work anymore, they were garbage.

I would love to try the AirPort, if it was just a little less expensive.

When I had an iMac, we had zero issues with our Linksys router. Now we have a 2Wire supplied by AT&T and that has been even easier.

Linksys which is consumer Cisco routers. I have set up 10 or so of these for people. Very easy.

I would avoid D-Link at all costs. I had nothing but headaches with the two that I tried in my home setup.

I have a linksys, and a Mac, plus PCs.

I also had to get a wireless repeater since I couldn't get a decent signal downstairs in my house.

Since adding the repeater, I have had zero connectivity problems.

Airport Extreme, or barring that a Linksys WRT54G.

Rock solid, the both of 'em.

We had the same problem but the repeater doesnt always help. We have been using a Linksys for a long time. They seem to flake out a lot. They are a good price though.

Default Thank You Everyone!!!

^^^ Thanks Pixelnexus, I'm totally sold now!! lol....

Thanks to everyone for your input, I REALLY appreciate it! Looks like the AirPort, Linksys and 2Wire are the best for both.

I'm so glad I asked you all because those darn D-Links are on sale again and I nearly got one.

Sounds like Linksys has gone through some good changes since Cisco now owns them (did not know that bit of info), really happy to hear that.
