Default The Newbies Guide to "The Org" from the org Vets

Greetings.

Okay, I think us seasoned veterans of the org, can be a help to those just signing up to the Beetle Nation. So please share your Sage words of wisdom and direction for all the new converts of the org, in hopes to make there experience here easier.

Kind of a witty Newbies guide to the org.

Gosh I hope this hasn't been done before.... I'd feel like such a noob if it was

First. Don't post until you fill out all your vital info. How can we help you if we don't know...

1.
What type of new beetle you own
2.Where in the world are you- help just might be in your own town.

Yes, you should be using premium in your 1.8T

GTG = Get Together. And yes, you're allowed to come

Be able to take a joke and be able to take criticism.
Don't post your personal business unless you want people involved in your business or flat out do no care.
Be yourself.
Offer your own help even if it doesn't actually help because there will always be someone to correct you when you're wrong and that correction will help. Just don't get mad if you're wrong. We learn from our mistakes.

Don't swear, cuz noR will attack you and make James get out the Banstick. Hell, James will get out the Banstick just to be a wiseguy, who am i kidding.

If you post sexy shots, prepare to be ridiculed, even if you're hot. No, especially if you're hot. If you have boobs, you will have people who hate you for them. It's true unfortunately. You just have to get used to that.

I second that!

How-To sections cannot be posted in...they are for information only...if you have questions post in the appropriate Technical forum or Questions and Problems forum.

If you have a How-To you would like to contribute, build it in a forum then pm me and I will move it into the How-To section.

PM = Personal Message

x2!!!

And also (like with my painting threads), dont skip to the bottom and ask for a step-by-step instruction without reading the posts beforehand. 9 out of 10 times, you just skipped over all your answers.

Methinks that someone needs to follow his own advice...

Don't listen to FineExampl, he's a weird guy.

There are guidlelines to follow before starting a new thread in each section. If you follow those guidlines our moderators can finish doing their modifications, rather than changing things for us!

If you plan on entering the chat room (which I highly recommend), leave your ego at the door and expect the unexpected. Be yourself, but let it all out at the same time.

In general; love your car, respect you fellow drivers (even if you don't see eye to eye) and do your part to keep this place alive!

VIVA LA BEETLE!

Smile Welcome Newbies! We were all newbies once!

1. Start a thread in the "New Member" forum, so we can all say Hi.

2. Use the "New Member" forum just for that purpose. If you have issues, please post them in the correct technical, or "Miscellaneous Hoo-Ha" forum.

3. Put pictures of your New Beetle in a thread you start in the "Photos: New Beetles" forum. Add to your New Beetle picture thread, whenever you have new photos.

4. Lastly, have fun with your time here!
