Default 4th Annual Paper New Beetle Design Contest

It's that time again!!!

We were trying to figure out how to involve everyone in the world in the Texas New Beetle Round-Up...the best way is to invite everyone to Dallas for the show (which will be worth the trip)...but seeing that some people might not be able to drive across the ocean we thought it might be cool to have a contest that will be judged at the show for anyone that has internet access.....

This is what we came up with......

Paper New Beetle contest for EVERYONE!!!

This year we are holding a contest for anyone that wants to participate.

We will have two categories - Internet Entries and Show Entries

Designing your Paper New Beetle -
Once you download the jpeg image you can import it into your favorite graphics program and style it up, then print out on card stock and cut out…
OR
Simply print out the Paper New Beetle on card stock, decorate, color and design it anyway your heart desires!

Internet Entries -
To participate simply download the paper beetle and design away!
All Entries must be printed on card stock and fully cut out (please fold and then unfold the model before mailing). Include the completed "Internet Paper Beetle" Placard so we can identify your entry. Beetles can be mailed flat in an envelope as long as it has been cut out by the entrant before mailing.
Then mail your entry to:
Texas New Beetle Round-Up
P.O. Box 631575
Irving, TX 75063-1575
***Note we cannot return your paper new beetle after the show.

Show Day Entries -
To participate simply download the paper beetle and design away!
Print your paper beetle out on card stock and assemble.
Bring the completely assembled and designed paper beetle along with the "Show Paper Beetle" Placard filled out.

Prizes and Judging -
This will be a category on the participant judged judging sheet, so the TNBRU Show Participants will be voting on the winners of the Paper New Beetle contest.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Place will be awarded for the top 3 Internet Entries
Gift Certificates to AutoZone for the amounts of $20, $15 and $10 will be awarded.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Place will be awarded for the top 3 Show Entries
Gift Certificates to AutoZone for the amounts of $20, $15 and $10 along with certificates will be mailed to the winners.

***Please, only one entry per person.

We will need entries a week before the show so we can assemble them - SEPTEMBER 29th, 2007

Look who one last year!

And she wanted to use her gift card so much she flew over seas to the states just to spend it at Autozone!

Our German entry!

...and they better make it to the show this year! They decided to transfer right out of Dallas just to go to the TNBRU in 2007 (okay pretend that was the reason, okay? )

And who could forget our Geek Squad knock off...

Diane, I'm sure he got the proper permission for the copywrites for that...

Come on...even BikerFox entered!

Why oh why did you show the picture of BikerFox's entry!?! Is it not enough that I have to look at it every time I sit at the computer desk?

I've always enjoyed this part (and every other part!) of the show, 'toine. What a great idea! Maybe this year I'll participate in it.

It is scaled to fit on a 8.5x11 piece of paper (card stock works best though) - I suppose if you wanted to print on 11x17 that would work, but most people don't have access to that format ~ most folks will be making them the 8.5x11 flavor.

You got me. We have a printer here at work that takes 11 by 17 card stock. I'm thinking of printing out several for my kids, ages 18 mo, 5 and 13 years. Oh, and one or two for me.

bugsy - you can do either.
It would be easier for you to send it flat and cheaper, but if you want to make sure it ultimately is put together as well as you would like send it in in a box.

We do want you to cut them out if you are sending them in flat though.
