Default Shoes... (omg shoes!)

I do a LOT of walking around at my job, mostly on thin carpet or linoleum / rubber flooring, so my feet get a lot of pounding through the day. By the end of most days, my feet ache. I'd wear sneakers, but the dress is business / business-casual. I currently wear some decent brown Vans that don't bother me so much and some black Sketchers with Superfeet insoles. Those used to kill my feet before the insoles, and now they are OK but not great.

Does anyone have recommendations for shoes that can keep my feet from aching by the end of the day?

Bass makes some pretty comfy shoes, I've been wearing those a lot.

I'm a Vans wearer too, but only on casual Fridays

I get away with my Vans because they are nearly solid dark brown suede. Who knew that something that is basically a skate shoe could give such comfy arch support?!

I walk around a lot for my job too but I have to wear heels so...I got some rubber gel foot pads for the parts of my feet (the ball of my foot and my left heel), to stick in my heels. Works great and my feet feel much better at the end of the day.

They make full shoe inserts if you wear shoes that can fit them. I'm guessing since you said Skechers and Vans that they probably would fit a full gel sole insert.

my semi-fashionable daughter recommends Dansko, Camper, Birkenstock, or Earth Shoes.

I prefer Clarks. A lot of reasonably dressy shoes, and very comfortable...and there's a Clarks outlet close by my house.
