John & I stopped at a garage sale yesterday and he found some LP's. He didn't buy any but he was regreting it later
Craigslist is a good place to start looking.

Interesting...today I'm hooking up my Ion turntable which gives me the capacity to tranfer my vinyl and cassettes into CD and MP3 format. I had no place to store the vinyl until just now, when I finished assembling the LP cabinet we bought from IKEA last night...

I used to have a record... It was The Yardbirds live with jimmy page. it had a couple of songs that became Zepplin mega hits such as I'm confused which became Zepplins dazed and confused. It also contained train kept a rolling which Aerosmith remade. I kick myself today for getting rid of it.

I don't collect, but my dad does. He has entire wall-sized closet filled with records, including a box set of all the Beatles albums, never used. He also has many imports, mainly The Beatles.
We went to the Whitney Museum of Art yesterday in NYC to see their exhibition Summer of Love: The Art of the Psychedelic Era and my dad found a bunch of albums/album covers that he has, on display. His collection has got to be worth thousands. He also found in a box original programs from the Fillmore East of shows he went to back then. He found out that they're each worth about $1000. He now has them in frames in his music room. |

Just got back from a date with Steph. Of Course we went to the record store. She got Lovin Spoonful and 2 Monkees records. I walked out with my arms full. I got a 3EP on one LP of Tones On Tail (anyone know them??), a Patti Smith record, 2 REM records, and about 8-9 David Bowie records. My total was just under $40. Not too shabby! And all the vinyl are SCRATCHLESS! I kicked ass today.

'have several hundred vinyl LPs and 45's and more 78's, plus a few cylinders (and a couple dozen 8 tracks) and the various requisite players. Lots of bubblegum, classic rock, 80's, dance band, novelty and historical stuff. I have the gear to convert to MP3 and filter, but never have the time. I've been using the camera on the powerbook to take pics of the album art to attach to the files on the ipod (I know, waste of space, but a lot of these, the cover art is better than the music). I just take the pics in mirror mode and crop the half away that has the text backwards
