Default Honda Civic Diesel Spotted

Honda Civic diesel was spotted in Detroit. Could this be available here for the late 2009 or 2010 model years?

the Honda diesel engine is THE MOST AMAZING DIESEL ENGINE.

the technology put into the engineering of it is rediculous.
oh, and it's 50 state legal!

What do you mean 50 state legal??? Diesels are illegal in NY unless they're a certain age and have a certain number of miles. I don't see how that would change just for the Honda?

because the Honda diesel engine is so well engineered, it has very low emission for a diesel... hence it is 50 state legal.

The Honda diesel hasn't been approved quite yet, but it will be. Unlike VW and other manufacturers, all Honda engines are 50 state emissions certified (some are certified for Federal Emissions Standards, which is not the same and requires a separate Certificate from Calif), which means this diesel won't show up until its CARB Certified (which would then make it legal for NY and the other states that mirror Calif requirements)....which I hear will be for 2009 possibly.

The new Honda 2.2 and Subaru 2.5 Diesels are neat engines and cool made with the North American market in mind. I would seriously consider one as a future vehicle.

I think once Honda brings their diesels here, they are going to be giving VW a run for their money. They have good engines and good, reliable cars.

But I still love me some Vdub. I want a TDI Rabbit. That is all.
