It's beautiful but it definitely has days when it's terribly evil! It takes about 5 minutes for that calm beauty to turn into 4 or 5 ft waves! I love watching storms come! |

"knock on wood" We have been lucky for a few years. We have not had a hurrican since Isabelle demolished our yard four years ago. We get some nasty storms now and then but we are lucky for the most part.
Oh yeah, in case any of you were wondering, this is the Potomac about 5 miles south of the Chesapeake Bay. |

Looks just like my back yard! I am further down the coast of MD in Charles County, I wouldn't dare get into the water though. My younger brother got a staph infection from swimming in the Potomac.

It's a lot cleaner as you get further south. We are so close to the mouth of the river, it's fairly clean.
