Smile Teachers!

I know there are many teachers cruising this site. Tell us about your teaching position.

I have been teaching for 25 years. Most of it at a K-8 school, teaching middle school science. I have also taught multi-grade level gifted classes.

My friends say, ya gotta be crazy to teach middle school! And I reply, "And your point is?... Where else can you "play" all day and get paid for it!"

Kinda looks like me teaching chemistry!

I taught animation and figure drawing in california for 3 years. Started out as a student, then volunteered when i graduated. Probably the best job I ever ever had...and it paid nothing!

Not a teacheer, but in my opinion they all should be paid twice what they are.

I just got certified for 1-6 and I'm hoping to sub my way into a nice school.

I can't wait to see all of the kids hitting each other when I pull into the parking lot.

I'm a teacher and I feel like I have done everything since I started this career.

I started as a teaching assistant. While I was in that position I worked with 2nd graders, kindergarteners with autism, and eighth graders.

After I got certified, I became a special education teacher where I worked with middle school aged children with disabilities. That job didn't work out for me so I spent last year doing leave replacements. One was sixth grade math and the other was sixth grade special education.

I finally found a permanent teaching position this year where I teach academic intervention math and reading to students in grades 1-5. It's a ton of work having 7 different groups to plan for, but I love it.

In addition, I work at a Sylvan Learning Center.

Tonight one of my kids at Sylvan said to me, "Next time I see you, you better have a husband." Kids! Gotta love 'em!!!

I have been teaching for about 20 years. I worked in Maine, first as a teachers assistant for a school year. Then I taught "experiential education" for 3 years.

Later I moved to Ohio and got my masters degree in teaching special ed. I have been teaching special ed for kids with emotional disturbances/severe behavior handicaps for 15 years here. I have taught all grades from 4th up.

I can't imagine myself doing any other job.
