Default Audition in Three Hours; Excited/Nervous.

So are there any other actors here?

I have an audition in three hours for all the main-stage productions this year. They call it cattle-calls; you go in with a group of four other people and each person has two minutes to perform both a contemporary monologue and and classical piece in front of all six directors.

I'm starting to get excited and anxious and a little nervous but I'm prepared and know I'll do well.

Wish me luck!

-Blake

Break a leg! I have an audition next week for a local showing of To Kill a Mockingbord. I'm auditioning for the part of the girl who gets raped which is waaaay touchy but when the director heard about me he thought I would be good for the part of the young girl.

In high school I won an "Oscar" for most outstanding actress in our theatre awards. I cherish that thing. I loooove acting

Let us know how your audition went!

I'm not an actor but I do go to a college with a very large, well known theatre department. In fact, my 3 apartment mates are all theatre majors. I know all about cattle calls. And good luck with it!!!

Thanks everyone!

It went well, it was very nerve-racking to walk in and see 15 of the most well respected directors and instructors just sitting in front of you following you with their eyes and then just waiting for you to start.

I did well and it was over in the blink of an eye. They lined us up (I went first) briefed us and then I was on my way to the "X" on the floor and off I went.

I did my solid monologue first as I was told if they didn't like you in the first ten seconds they weren't gonna listen to you (though I'm hard not to pay attention to) and then I did my Shakespeare and was done in just under two minutes which was good cause they didn't have to cut me off

After that I walked outside, turned around and couldn't believe I was already done

Callbacks will be posted tomorrow (Thursday) so I'll be sure and let you all know if I got to round two (ding ding)
