The thing about the New Beetle is that it can be so cute and "girly" and on the other hand be a bitchin' manly ride Its that god damn vase! messing everything up..making it femininty, with its flowers and all that crap

Looks like a forum for VW bashers to me! What a bunch of losers!
I must admit all of the other cars in the poll are girly but not the VW's. Most people who know about VW's know it mostly about the quality.... and the sexiness of course
I really cant believe they put the EOS on there. I have seen a few around here and they were all driven by guys...hot ones!
So to answer your question NO
Beetles are not girly. You should look through all of the pics on here and see what these guys have done to their NB's....and they arent girly!!!

Seriously. 3 out of 5 of their girly cars are VWs.

Someone wrote: "VW Beetle (The one with the damn flower holder, doesn't matter if its a 2.0L engine, its still a sissy car to drive)"

Sure my 2.0 kicks butt...but how about the turbos...

I like that Copen. I wish they'd sell it here.
This chicks car stuff always irks me. Why the hate? If they drove the car themselves half at least would change their minds. Well, this 1.8t always leaves them in the dust. It may have pink flames but they're still hottttt Burns them everytime

Call me what you will, but don't call me late for dinner..

Yeah, unfortunately, that's the rep the NB has. VW even recognized it at product launch, which is why they created a rallye version (StudBug), which one of our members (MadMike) has owned and driven to multiple national rallye championships.

You might have seen the "Cute Car" add's back in early 2000-2001 featuring StudBug.

So to answer your question, yes, we drive the hottest, most comfortable, fun-to-drive, high performing "girly" car around.

I'm ok with that, and the guys that I race against at EMRA and the SCCA are as well.

BTW, it's always fun at our events when I have a half-dozen drivers standing around my open engine bay, while there are Cobra's, Porsche’s and Z06 vettes sitting in the same paddock.

Since those cars are supposed to go fast, know one really pays much attention to them in-between practice sessions. But, when I am putting down better lap-times than some of the V8 and V6 guys, I attract a crowd.

Say it loud, say it proud, I drive a "Girly Car" while your blasting the doors off some Honda Civic or Nissan Sentra Spec-V "R" with a 2.8 second 70 to 95mph split time...

The irony of it all is wonderful....

i'll borrow a quote from Alan from NYC (who commented on some other article):

"According to the article, my Saturn is also a "chick car." Which leads me to the conclusion that there are only three kinds of cars on the road: chick cars, boring cars, and cars driven by people to overcome sexual inadequacies."

i'll keep my 'girly' car, thank you very much.

I've heard a number of guys inform me quickly that the Beetle is their "wife's car, but it sure does handle great and it's a lot of fun to drive!"

And I don't believe for a minute that the pen holder makes it girly!

The NB can go either way, they look apropriate with flower stickers or slamed with agressive wheels which gives them a Porsche type look. I see a lot of other guys driving beetles. Also, driving a NB might make me more popular with the gals, heck it has to work better than some old Chevy truck!

I laugh at people who will or will not buy a vehicle based on what they think it might do (or not) for their image. There's another forum I've been on for several years and when it comes to car topics, watch out for 14+ page threads of people making judgments of you or personal life based on what you drive

A few years ago you were the king (or queen) if you posted your Audi, BMW, or Acura. A car was considered cool as long as it wasn't an American 4-cylinder. V6, depends on what it was, V8, heck yes!!

NOW - here's the opinion if you post a pic of your car:

BMW/AUDI - Have fun when it breaks and you get stuck with the bill

Nissan - It's slow (especially if it's a Sentra)

Toyota - Nice choice (unless it's a Camry or Corolla)

VW Jetta/Golf - Haha you drive a girl's car

New Beetle tin top - you're gay

New Beetle vert - you're flaming homo

Old Beetle - nice!

Any American Car or Hyuandai/Kia/Daewoo - You're poor and drive the biggest POS ever

Honda - Haha you're a riceboy

Acura - Nice but you got an overpriced Honda

Lexus/Infiniti - haha you bought an expensive Toytota/Nissan

Saturn - you will never get laid, you fail

Scion - haha you drive a highschooler's car

Chrysler 300 on 22's - Ghetto Bentley

Any lifted truck - you're a redneck

Any lowered car - Are you a gangbanger?

Any vehicle that's under $25,000 - you suck at life

Any vehicle that's over $50,000 - why do waste all that money on a depreciating asset?

Any car that's $30,000-35,000 - haha you couldn't afford the fully loaded model - you suck

Any type of Van - so how do you like driving mom's car?

Any type of sedan - I bet you don't get out much.

Any type of sport bike - you're an a-hole and wonder why cars try to run you off the road

Any car over $60,000 - daddy bought your car/you're a spoiled biatch

So remember folks, no matter what you drive, someone out there loves it, many more hate it
