Default should I go to work today

I am on the debate now to see if I should go to work today after I had my surgury. Im in pain and I feel gross. I work in the Er so I will be doing alot of running around. Im really drowsy. Last night I was soo gonna throw up and somehow I didnt! I still havent poop sorry TMI LOL Wearing bras really sux now all you girls will understand this one. I hated bras b4 but now when they rub on your cut it really hurts. So they put me in a sports bra ummmmm yeah i havent wore one of these in prob a decade!! Just a fyi Im a d so they need a bit more support than a sports bra lol. so I dont wanna go to work like that I dont wanna hurt more either. I cant afford to call off however my boss told me I could have the day off with no worrys. blah what do I do?

Don't push yourself. Stay home and rest. It wouldn't be a pretty picture if you ended up puking at work

Why do people feel the need to 'push themselves' when they SHOULD be healing?

Look, you work in an ER, you should know better. Can you imagine the effort involved in developing the new skin to seal the incisions or whatnot? All the pushing and prodding surely messed with some tissues. Shouldn't you give those time to heal up in a harmonious self-preservation way?

I dunno what they pay you to do in the ER; but you deserve it to yourself to not go in. And to take AT LEAST 1 day to heal, if not 3.

I was just going to say, what's all this talk about going back tomorrow!?! Go back on Monday!

Glad the boss is working with you. Sounds like working in an ER has taught her a few things, too!

I see you're staying home already. I was gonna comment that you should stay home, because your body just went through a bit of trauma, even if not much, but probably enough to lower your immune system. I wouldn't want to work with sore "tiggles" either

That's great. On the bf, I think he needs a good swift kick in the jimmies before he heads off to work! Maybe he'd be a bit more compassionate then?

There's a big difference between pulling a 'Ferris Bueller' and recovering from surgery. I say take care of yourself and make sure you're back to full strength before returning.
