Default AARGGH!! I need a song!

Ok, this is the deal. I have been asked to sing at a "Review" the 1st weekend in December. Its held each year and is basicly every thing from the standards of the 40's, Opra to Jazz, Country (no way) to Motown and so on. It ends with a Christmas finale.

I have to choose a song, from say......millions of them!!!

This is my first time to do this and I want to rock the house. I sing barefoot so that will likely be remembered.
Several people say I sound like Bonnie Raitt so I may do one of hers.

Any suggestions?

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

How cool, my best friend just suggested "In the Arms of the Angels" which sounds like a Christmas song, sort of.

Did you know that song was written for some one who died of a herion overdose?

I am wanting something up tempo too. There will be alot of ballads so I want to jump start 'em.

This is gonna be harder than I thought.

You could always do the popular stand by GG Allin "Bite It You Scum". That one always warms my heart.

A good strong song would be "Alone", by Heart. Starts off sweet, then gets loud. (I always fantasize that I can sing like Ann Wilson..... )

"....'til now,
I always got by on my own..

I never even cared until I met you..

And now, it chills me to the bone...

How do I get you alone?...."

(I love Ann..... )

Hey Dnyed,

How cool of you to mention that song! There is a song by Anastacia called You'll Never Be Alone, the into to that song sounds just like the Heart song, to me anyway. I always sing what you wrote to it.

I know what you mean about Ann Wilson, she is so powerful. Way back when, I did Baraccuda. That was a fun song to do. But the intro to it sounds like the theme to the TV show Bonanza. I really have a problem, don't I?

Do you know The Cowboy Junkies? Now, before you panic, their music is not really country...kind of hard to explain. Anyway, I was thinking of a song called Misguided Angel. BTW, Sarah McLachlan and The Cowboy Junkies are Canadian - eh!

My fav Canadians are Martin Short and Dana Carvey.
Dana is a silly name for a man.
Sarah is so talented, I agree.
