Thanx Justin
Now my day is complete
I had a very good day with my daughter Hayley. I let her cut school and go to Birmingham with me. Did the 'ol "buy yourself something you want since I'll be at Ft Bragg on your birthday" thing. So I did.

Got a huge cage for my bird, some clothes and we gluttoned ourselves at the Olive Garden. I had 3 bouquets when I got home from family and friends and I just woke up from a Olive Garden Coma.

Bruce is bringing something home this weekend and I have to wait to find out what it is Can't wait, most likely bling-bling.

Oh, and I didn't have cake, I had some Gevalia and primo dark chocolate. Yeah, I'll be up for a while

Glad you are having a good day, and that I was able to complete it for you!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Thanx everybody, I was a very good birthday.... then today....my eldest daughter Carmen, the red head in my pix, brought me a Senseo coffee maker! I was giddy! I have lusted over her Senseo for awhile.

She's a Barista. She has managed several coffee shops and plans to open one here in our town someday. Right now she has 4kids to raise.

I love this story: She meet her husband Robert when he was at Joe Muggs one evening, she arrived on her shift and saw him sitting at one of the tables. She was so struck when she saw him, she ran to the back, her face was flushed and she knew he was the guy for her. They have been married 8 years now.
I know thats Sorry, I'm a softy for "how they met" stories.

Now I can make my friends some kickin' Joe!

aww, what a sweet story!

i got senseo's arch enemy, the black and decker home cafe, for my birthday last year. i wanted a senseo, but my dad got me "the other one". i didn't like it at all, really, and around it's one-year anniv, i finally pitched it. you'll have to let me know how you like the senseo!

now THAT'S off topic!

My best friend bought a Senseo last year and at first she and her husband loved it! He wasnt even a coffee drinker until he tried the senseo coffee. For some reason they ended up not liking it after a while. I cant remember exactly why but I know it had something to do with how the coffee tasted after a while. She said she tried to clean it and it didnt help.

Why people mess with gimicky devices i will never know. "HEY LET'S PUT COFFEE IN LITTLE TEABAGS AND CALL EM PODS AND YOU WOULD ONLY USE THEM FOR ONE CUP AND WE'LL RAPE PEOPLE'S WALLETS" is what it amounts to. What's so wrong with a standard drip or perculator? Shoot, in a pinch i just run the espresso maker and get a cup that way. I have a drip and espresso in my kitchen. That's ALL you need.

Gimmicky Xmas gifts SUCK!

my home cafe from black and decker produced awful, bitter, lukewarm coffee. never really was happy with it. i've heard mixed reviews about the senseo. i really like the one-cup coffee idea because that's all i drink in a day - one cup. however, i've gone back to a coffee pot (4 cup) and it's working just fine for me.

i only drink one cup a day, so when i made a pot, or even a half pot, it was wasted. try making on cup in a 12-cup coffee maker. it's hard. well, it was for me anyway.

ah, but we've hijacked shutterbug's thread. let's get back on topic!

I know what you mean, B&D is the Darth Vader of coffee makers. If you can, get a Bunn Home maker. The restaurants use them cause they are so fast.
My hubby will use the Bunn, its more his style, but the Senseo is all mine

DANG John! it was my birthday present, let my break it in, man!

This is the thing about the Senseo. Like I said Carmen is a professional Barista, she knows her stuff. The Senseo brews with not only the correct tempature, but with pressure. It matters for some reason. There is no waste either, which is good for me. If I make a pot, it either gets bitter in a thermo carraff or get as strong as tar sitting on the warmer.

Quality coffee made right is just wonderful. Its the difference between say a Ford Pinto and a (place fine automobile name here, lest we turn this into a fine automobile thread)
