I have only one pet, my dog, Emma. (Actually, I suppose I should count our blond Lab, Ramses, but he doesn't live with us. Long story. Mom and her boyfriend assaulted me, I got kicked out, Ramses had the canine-equivalent of the Mariah Carey breakdown in my first apartment and my mom refused to let me keep him here. He now lives with Mom and her boyfriend.) Anyway, Emma is a 2 year old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I stumbled on the breed back in 2002 while watching a dog show and researched it for nearly two years before finding a breeder in North Carolina who wasn't snobby. In late July 2004, I got to bring my baby girl home!

Originally, I had planned on calling her Sunny, but her AKC papers were going to read something with the name Alix in it.. I have a facination with the Romanov dynasty of Russia and the last Czarina, Alexandra, was originally Princess Alix (before marrying) and Czar Nicholas II's pet name for her was Sunny. Go figure. When I saw Emma for the first time, though, she wasn't a Sunny. She was a little British tart, so Emma suited her just fine. For short, I call her Emmi which is some strange homage to Imogen Heap (of Frou Frou fame) whose nickname is Immi. (I'm weird, I know. )

Sadly, only a few weeks after I brought Emma home, my dad died from tonsil cancer. He had teased me about her and wanted me to get a Rhodesian Ridgeback, but once he saw Emma and got to play with her, he loved her as much as I do. She was kinda like a guardian angel because if it hadn't been for an obligation to care for this little puppy, I would have probably stopped getting up and caring about anything. So she's been with me through hell - losing my dad, my first big heartbreak, the physical altercation with my mom's boyfriend, then moving out on my own for the first time.

Here are some pictures of Emma as a puppy and then some pictures of her recently. (There's also one of Ramses at the end. I haven't seen him in two months. *Sigh*)

This are Kika and Dagobah. Kika is the white Bischon and Dagobah is the Cocker. Kika was my wifes dog when I met her, so shes been in the house more than me jejejeje. She is old and grumpy, and thats what I most love about her. My wife tells me that I love Kika more than I love her jajajaja.
We adopted Dagobah after a friend that has a pet shop found her in the street, all beat up, with blood all over her and a broken leg, with no more than 6 month old. We think a car hit her or something like that because she freaks out everytime she listens to a bus. When we first saw her she was litteraly in her bones and got scared of everything. She has overcome most of her traumas and is now a very happy playing dog. She has regained full use of her legs and is as healthy as an ox.
As you can tell, we absolutely love our daughters!!!!!

Ben is from England, he speaks with an English accent. Maggie is from Miami, we got her after Hurricane Andrew, she was a baby, the breeder sold her and other birds for money to fix his roof! Pepe is actually a girl but we didn't know that until the year she was 11 and suddenly laid eggs in the spring. She is the love of my life and 15 now. I am her favorite person and anyone or anything that comes near her table is liable to be bitten! (The macaws aren't as scary as she is!)
We had a beagle Cindy but she died 6 years ago, my husband is still heart broken.

This is Kato (maybe Akita, or some Lab, who knows?) and Tango, a Blue Heelerish Border Collie-ish curly-tailed spotted dog. Second shot is Kato with his best pitiful face. Both are rescues and are awesome dogs.

This is our boxer Elmo who we adopted about 2 months ago. He is 2-4 years old, and is an awsome dog!

i rescued my kitten from the quad this past semester at school he was almost 3 weeks old. way too young to be away from his mama...but he has grown up alright...a little spastic though...

It's Toto! No, he's Mischief.. a 7 (8 in another month) year old Cairn Terrier.

We got him back in March.. (after I swore no more dogs after the fiasco with Rusty in January)... and he's turning out to be a real sweetheart. He was actually headed for the shelter. His caretaker dropped him off with the stipulation that we could return him if it didn't work out. For three days he just sat and did nearly nothing. I am sure it was a combination of a)new place/new people b) being 10 pounds overweight.. he was 35 and the vet said no more tha 25 for his age and breed (I do know one thing.. his belly was so big it was only about an inch off the ground) and c) maybe homesickness.

At first walks were a real chore.. he'd go a few steps and then just stop. He was either too tired, or just not used to the concept of walking on a leash. Now, 3 months later we have him down to about 29 ppunds and he's much livelier.
