We watched "Bewitched" last weekend. I screeched "OOhhh New Beetle Convertible" when the garage door was re-opened.
However, I cringed when she backed out, then opened the top as she drove off. ![]() Anyway, that's my VW sighting. ![]()

We went to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, Calif.in July. They have a NB with jelly beans painted all over it. Wish I could post my picture but I don't have the software on this computer.

Let's not forget The Shining. In Kubrick's movie they remembered the Torrances owned a Bug. It also played prominently in the novel. Danny even had a purple one that Jack built that he cherished over all his other cars. He is a willful boy if i may say so.

There is a Monk episode about a dead guy in an old beetle that gets literally dumped out of the bed of a dumptruck onto the freeway in front of monk, halting traffic. They probably demolished a few for the scene.
Doesnt Kevin Bacon drive one in Footloose?

Surely, you guys must've noticed that in almost every movie (since about 1960), you can spot a Beetle?
Of course, if you're talking major appearances, the movie, "Bye Bye Braverman," is my favorite. Not only is the Beetle the main transporter, the cast has a scene where they talk about it!

Well, the best movie for Beetle spotting is Superstar. In the flashbacks, all cars were green original Beetles.
In the present time, all cars are Cyber Green New Beetles. ![]()

And how about Steve MqQueen's movie, "Bullitt"
That movie had 37 VW's show up on screen !! You have watch it closely though, some are parked in parking lots, along the side of the roads but there is a green '68 Beetle in the San Francisco chase scene that's neat. ![]() |

I love this thread!
Alan I agree that there are lots of Beetle flashes in the movies today. What movie is it that has those snobby girls in NBC at the gas station and the guy has to clean their windshield and they are making fun of him and blowing the horn? Mean girls, or Clueless? |

It would be handy if I knew, but there's a website where they track each carmodel. Also of course our beloved NB.
Not all movies are mentioned there, but there are alot. Like "Love Actually", "The Mexican". "The girl next door" etc |

There is a Woody Allen movie where people in the future find an AC beetle stashed in a cave...they are shocked that it cranks and runs.
IKEA stores used to have beetles in the front of the store painted yellow, now they have some funky small car.
