That is the tow hook cover. Remove it and screw in the tow hook for towing. The tow hook is in with your spare tire, I believe.

heck yes it's a tow hook cover for your tow hook that you screw right in.

came in handy when i had to tow my beetle twice.

It goes with the one in the rear, onlythat one stays uncovered...sort of.

Talking Whats funny...............is......

When you call VW roadside service and they TELL YOU that YOU need a FLATBED tow truck to tow your car...and a regular truck shows up and has NO IDEA what to do......LOL!!!!!!!!! SO you have to call Roadside assistance again and then they locate another Flatbed but the guy already has a car on the bed so HE wants to tow it with his stinger?????????? And I said are you kidding.....where are you going to attach it. He says wheels..I said.....Um.......and scratch the back and bottom of my car...I don't think so. Yes they did end up sending a Flatbed..but it only took 3 1/2 hours from the time of the first call................
