Here are some reviews of movies I've seen recently.
Hostel: Ok. I think they wanted to start where Saw left off, and take the gore up a notch. The gore was pretty creepy, but just in a few scenes. But it definitely lacked in the psychological thriller aspect that Saw just excelled at. It was ok, but probably more a wait for DVD type movie.
Brokeback Mountain: There's a reason this movie is in line for a bunch of awards. Very well done. Yeah, it was a bit slow moving in parts. But still held your interest. I think this movie can touch many people. It teaches important lessons that have nothing to do with sexuality. So people from all walks of life can get something from it. For those who have no problem with homosexuality, but just don't want to see gay sex. It's really not a problem. There's only one real love scene, and not much is shown. It lasts for only a few seconds. But again, this movie can touch people of all walks of life.
Red Eye: Decent movie. A bit predictable. But definitely a good rental.
American Pie Presents: Band Camp: There's a reason this was a "straight to video".
Transporter 2: Good flick. Not quite as good as the first. Also a bit predictable. But still good. Was a very short film (less than 1.5 hours). But a good rental. The scenes with the Audi A8 were cool. Very unrealistic, but cool.
I also re-watched one of my favorite films yesterday (I've seen it at least a dozen times) . . .
Bring It On!: One of my favorites. Very campy and entertaining. The quotes from the movie are great. I could watch this movie over and over and over again.
