R2K veterans - Angie Townsend has died

It is with great sadness that I pass on the news that Angie Townsend died Thursday, February 9, 2006. Angie was diagnosed with cancer just after the 2004 R2K weekend. She fought the cancer hard to the very end. Her funeral was yesterday, 2/11/06. She is survived by her husband Ray, her children and many friends and family.

Angie and Ray were very active in the VW community in Texas hill country around San Antonio. They were also instrumental in the Roswell 2K planning and deployment.

For those of you who attended Roswell, Ray and Angie are the owners of Pissant - a silver bug and a mellow yellow convertible - Angie's personal ride.

I was truly sorry to read this on the NB list. I met Ray and Angie at Roswell a few times and they were the sweetest and warmest people.

I am so very sorry for the loss to her friends and family.

I don't think that I ever met them but I'm sorry for the loss.

Ray was parked just down from you towards the divider last year. He his car has the hood that has the humps in it. He was helping to direct the cars into the parking lot. He and Angie are just the sweetest people.
