Default What can you fit in your bug?

Remember that advertising stint that VW went on to show how much stuff you could fit into a bug?

Well this afternoon my company had a pizza lunch party and I volunteered to pick up the Pizzas. I managed to stuff 80 boxes of Extra Large Dominos Pizza into the bug.

It was hot, and I got a lot of smiles and laughs by passers by. But thanks to the moonroof, at leastthe bug doesn't smell like Pizza!

Each bag has 4 pizzas in it. Back seat folded down was able to fit 3 across and 3 high, then another row of 2 wide by 4 high, and in the passenger seat a single tower of pizza 3 bags high.

Other things I've stuffed into the bug:

1 large Ikea Desk
27" TV with box
Large Chinese Drum

I got a 20" TV/VCR/DVD combo in a HUGE box in there the other day. It had to go in the front seat though, cause it wouldn't go past the front seat to the back.

As well, the entire contents of the trunk of the '73 beetle is in the trunk of the '99 right now, as well as a computer monitor and a bunch of other crap.

In the trunk of my 'vert:

Two 32" rolling suitcases
Two full-sized TempurPedic pillows
A cooler
15 books

All at once! We love to take the 'vert on vacation. I love it when I unpack the trunk. A crowd usually gathers, and people are fascinated at how much I can stuff into the little opening.

The whole sofa, chair, AND a beanbag? You win!

That is a huge beanbag! Did you actually shut the hatch with it in there?

(Deb, You did see Studbug is coming to Portland, didn't you?)

What?? Oh my gosh! When? Where? What? Call me......

And, just the beanbag, called a "Lovesack". Yes we closed the hatch. The secret? The thing was compressed, a giant cube. But even that was impressive to fit in the bug.

I fit my Christmas tree from Lowe's, a 8 ft Frasier Fir in my '2K Bug.

The trunk was in the trunk and the top rested on the dash. The fun was the people in the parking lot that stopped to watch me fold down the back seat and get it in.

Oh, an I load him down with about $350.00 worth of groceries every 2 weeks. The baggers are sometimes doubtful everything will fit when we approach the car.

I make Beetle believers out of em.

rock on! I've gotten that look when I loaded the futon into my car at Big Lots ... the guy was like "it won't fit," and I closed the hatch to his complete amazement!

Took home my 27 inch Sony Wega (left the box with the salesman)
Yesterday I brought home 500-600 vinyl LP albums - most is stuff I don't care about but there are a couple good finds (for me)
