Unhappy Price of a gallon of Milk?

OK, we all complain about the price of a gallon of gas, but how much is a gallon of Milk where you live? I just paid $4.09. Now that is just ridiculous! Unfortunately my two grandchildren go through a gallon every other day and none of the stores here ever seem to have it on sale!!

Free!! I can't divulge my source, but it helps since my son drinks a gallon every 2 days by himself.

Ranges from 2.59 to 3.59 around here. Convenience stores being the highest or even higher than this.

It is outrageous at the grocery store here... $4.29 for Gandys or Bordens. We usually buy it at SuperWally for $3.29 when we buy all the rest of our groceries. The best price locally is at Allsups (a regional corner convenience store) - about $2.99, and they have stamp reward gimmic where you get a stamp for every gallon you buy to put on a card-- full card of 12 stamps and you get a free gallon of milk. We usually send one of our teenage daughters in to get it at Allsup's, for some reason the clerk always gives them double stamps
We drink a lot of it too!

usually at 3.79. If you get it on a real good sale it's as low as 1.69. I'm real picky about flavor so I usually get Deans at about 2.99 on sale.oops, 1.99 on sale

Hmm, how strange .... with buying milk I'm better off this time
Today I've bought 1 liter of skim milk and it costed me EUR0.65
A gallon wouldn't even fit in my fridge!

I don't drink much milk, and I always buy organic; it is something like 2.50 for a half gallon.
I thought that the price of milk was (federal) government controlled. I'm clearly misinformed and ignorant. I guess it's only controlled in some states. For me, standard milk is usually the same price in all grocery stores and gas stations (the state minimum)

Von's has 2 1 gal jugs of 2% for $3.99. $3.49 for the first gal, I believe, then .50 for the 2nd gal. We eat cereal here, so it does get used.

Milk prices are regulated by the government here so that milk will never be too expensive for low-income families to have as a staple.
