Cool Mother's Day - What do you give / expect?

It's that time of year to figure out how to express our appreciation to the ladies in our lives.

This year, I have chosen, for my wife, a tree-shaped Chinese white Wisteria for all she has done for our daughters...

I actualy don't expect anything for Mother's Day.

I do expect to be treated with the same love and respect I show the Boy Wonder, on a daily basis.

I never know what to expect because I'm a single mom and my daughter, Sierra is only 11. Now, she's getting older so the gifts she gets could/should be getting better. But there's nothing like the homemade ones the kids make with all their hearts...

But don't think I wouldn't want some bling comin' my way....lol

My immediate fam treats me to a nice day. My adult daughter will do nothing. Not even a phone call. She hates me.

I will send my Mom an e-card, and call her.

Pre-Happy Mothers Day to all Moms, and Grandmas!

This will be my first mommy's day, and all I really want is to go all day without the kiddo spitting up! I'll have to work that day though.

Mother appreciates a gift, but it doesn't have to be something expensive.
She knows how I think about her, so even if I just swing by and don't bring a present, it doesn't matter.
But.... today in Amsterdam I've bought 2 rolls of chocolate from Droste in the flavour Orange.
This 'special' chocolate I can buy everywhere, except for the orange flavour. It seems that it's for tourists only as it's sold in touristshops and at the airport. Weird

How sad I can't imagine not having a good relationship with my mom. Maybe someday she'll come around.

Mom is getting a cheesecake sampler from Hickory Farms since she does not want me "throwing my money away on flowers"!!! I only expect a call from my kids...but I do talk to 2 out of 3 of them almost daily anyway!! I have sent my daughters and daughter in law cards. I have "assisted" my grandchildren who live with me, in getting a necklace that says "mom" on it for their mom. Since they are 2 years and 10 months old, they couldn't get it themselves!!! Boy do they owe me!!!

I'll send my mom a nice card and call her first thing on Mother's Day. And, although this is unusual for us, she will be coming out to my place the day after to watch the girls in some school awards stuff, so I'll give her a hanging floral basket (hard to mail that ). I am also going to have an ID tag engraved for her new puppy (the last puppy disappeared, stolen most likely ). I guess I should look into having the puppy chipped, but she may be too little (8 weeks).

I prolly won't get much myself, as my husband thinks he's off the hook for Mother's Day "since your not MY mother" and the kids won't do much except tell me "Happy Mother's Day" (funds are short for teens always ). If I'm lucky I'll get dinner out, although the wait on that day is usually horrible.

Happy Mothers Day to all .org moms!

this year has been really tough on my family, especially my mom so us kids (my 2 sisters, 1 bro & myself) thought it would be nice to reward our mom with a nice big car. we went to the mercedez dealer on saturday afternoon and got my mom a 2006 ML 350. we got her the sirius radio so she could listen to her religious station all she wants too... whenever, wherever.

it took a big chunk out of my savings but i'm sure my mom will love it. we're going to pick it up on saturday because we have no where to park it without her seeing it so i'll post pictures of it on saturday and of her reaction.

i love my mom, therefore i had to give up my greece trip for later this year.

WOW! What an outstanding reflection of your (collective) relationship with your mom. Of course the monetary value is not what gives your gift its value, it's the selfless giving up of your own trip to make this impression upon your mother, to say how much you appreciate her, that punctuates this expression...

Well I would like to give my Mom a Mansion and a Yacht, but I think flowers and dinner will have to do! My Wife will be getting one of those diamond infinity cirle pendants and a chain from me, and something from the children (I have to take them shopping tomorrow!)
