Default Air Compressor

So...i'm trying to put together a small garage setup and have a few things on hand tohelp out with minor repairs and maintenance.

I have a pair of floorjacks, jackstands, chocks, creeper, etc. I'll be getting some portable lights, etc. as well.

I would like to get a compressor as well so that i can buy an impact wrench for lugnuts and to get a shop blower, maybe use it for paint and junk.

What kind of compressor should i get? They have some for $100 or so at pep boys and target. Would these work???

Sears has sales, for their many grades of Craftsman units. Warrantied, and IMO, better quality.

Buy the best one you can afford. It will be worth it.

Make sure the capacity of the air compressor and the CFM meet what your impact gun needs. Nothing worse than having to stop halfway through and wait while the compressor re-charges. IMO, a 2.5 gallon tank just does not cut it.

Default noise AC compressor

I found my AC compressor becomes noise when it's working (turn on the AC), and the noise level is increased when driving. The AC still works, with cooler air. Does anyone have some ideas about this, do I need replace a new compressor, how expensive it will be? Thanks a lot!

I use craftsman tools at my job. There very dependable, and when I have my own tools and do a professional job, I trust them 110%, so I'll agree.

For air compressors, I like Porter Cable's Job Boss. It's small enough to fit in the back seat of a Beetle (I've done it), but powerful enough to get the job done. Plus, it has a regulator which will hold pressure at a certain PSI (great for valve jobs). You get what you pay for, just remember that.
