Well I'll say something about Memorial Day.

Being military for the last 22 years has openned my eyes to what is called for in the life of every military member, be it male or female. The things they do without question is more than most of us can handle. The seperation from family grows character or at least defines it. They deserve every honor they get.

My husband never knew his grandfather cause he was killed in 1945. He died in France when his mother was 9 years old so his reason for joining goes deeper than the benefits or money for school.

We have had our testing and still do, but through it all I do not regret a moment or a tear. It has made us stronger.

I am greatful for every military member, police and fire fighter, emergency and hospital worker. And even more greatful for those who have suffered or died in the line of fire between us.....and evil.

They will not be forgotten.

I'm with you on that Shutterbug!! My grandpa served in the Marine Corps during WWII in the South Pacific and saw a lot of his buddies die. We've only got him to talk about it once or twice.

Never forget those who have died to defend our freedom!

Goin out on the lake tomorrow with my cousin.

I would like every American, whether you agree with the current political situation or not, to take a moment out of your busy lives to remember our soldiers. Regardless of what you think and where you stand, they are fighting for YOU and YOUR FAMILY. Pay some respects and remember what these days off are about.

And to my 2 grandpas... I miss you and love you both. Thank you for what you did for our country.

My friend, Valerie, (I've asked about her Golf TDI on here before, his name is Buster) got married yesterday here in Fort Collins and the reception was in Denver. So we spent the night in Denver and hung out there for awhile. Tomorrow I'll probably try to get some stuff done around the house.

As for Memorial Day, of course I agree with everything Niki said(don't I always?!) Even if you don't agree with the current war situation, let's remember all our veterans and those who didn't come home from all our wars - War for Independence, War of 1812, Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, and now the war on terror, which I don't think will ever end because there will always be terrorists.

Did I forget any wars? A big thank you to our servicemen and women serving in other countries like Japan and Europe.

Daisy flies the Stars and Stripes proudly every day!

For some reason, Vietnam has had a HUGE impact on my life. I can't explain it as I'm only 28 years old. Nobody in my immediate family fought. My dad is an only child and his father died when he was 10, so that and a high draft number kept him out of the war. I grew up in a house of hippie liberals, which probably explains my views on war in general.

Although I am a pacifist, I still respect and honor those that have died and are continuing to die for us to protect our freedom. I might not agree with war, but in this world, that seems to be the solution to a lot of problems for some people.

I honor these men and women every single time I look on my wall. These are pictures of my "Memorial Wall" in my apartment. This is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen. It inspired me to write a short story and then turn that short story into a screenplay. When my dad read my short story and then found out this picture was what inspired it, he bought me the picture. My mom later found the smaller one, with a poem and the Vietnam stamps at the Post Office. These pictures are a few of my most prized possessions. I look at them and remember, not just on Memorial Day, but every single day of my life.

During these times, I tend to think of our armed forces who have died most every day.

Memorial Day, for me, means remembering those who died decades, if not centuries ago, that helped make the US the world's greatest country.

I also get pissed off because it's also the time for Memorial Day sales.
