Default crashed the bug... dang

So last night I was heading to my girlfriends house on a back road and as I came around a sweeping right hand bend, the back end let loose and I went it a full on sideways drift. That was until the front left wheel clipped the side of the road which spun me around twice and landed me facing off the side of the road.

Fortunately, thing seem to have ended up on the better side of how it could have turned out. Both my turn signals are busted, and the bumper is all scraped up. The only other damage is the undertray and side sheilds are trashed.

Their are rub marks on the rear bumper but i have a feeling they will buff out. I took off work today and I am going to head to my parents house to diagnose the damage a little more. I should have pics up as soon as I can get my camera back up in front of a computer.

all in all, the bug held up well and other then a small crack on the underside (not visible), the votex bumper and my hood have faired well. Wheels may be scratched but they needed resurfaced anyway.

Aw man, I'm so sorry! I got scared when I saw the subject as "crashed", but it sounds fixable. Good luck and I'm glad you're ok!

Glad you're ok. NB's can be replaced you cannot be. Ok having said that...How fast were you going dude??? I take corners pretty fast but knock on wood never went off roading. Keep it slow at night, you never know what will jump out in front of you and the roads are too cool for gripping

The car's repairable, and that's a good thing. Just as long as you're safe.

pics soon, I can't seem to find my brothers cable to transfer the pics. I honestly was not going that fast which is what is surprising. I do have a tendancy to drive at a quicker pace, but this time I was just cruising with no one else around at about 1 am (didn't want to get tagged up by the po po).

The only other thought that I have other then the damp road and gravel is that i just replaced my front two tires with some super sticky summer tires, and the rears were coming soon. The fronts may have gripped and the rears didn't which snapped the car around.

Just got an estimate and it shoudl come to around $1,300 in repairs and that is since I know the body shop. This falls right under my threshhold for increasing my insurance so I think i got really lucky. Plus they are pretty dead so it can be repaired in about 3 days.

I will definately keep you all posted.

i've matured past my speed demon years. I think i just got unlucky when the set-up of my car didn't agree with mother nature.

Too bad you crashed, hope your ok. Although from the pics it doesnt look too bad. The splsh shield on the bottom of the car is like $40.00 and looks like you need some new Fog lights about $80.00 for both. If the bumper got damaged you can check out ebay and buy a new one for $70.00, but if thats the case i would go to to my insurance. But if your a DIY person you can easily fix that. I've changed bumpers many times.

unfortunately it is night quite as easy as that sounds considering the bumper is a modified votex unit and those aren't fogs but turn signals that have been rewired. The housings to the signals have to be modified as well as the mounts, and the wiring is a little messed up, but all in all it really isn't as bad as I originally thought it was.
