So I have three cats, all have their front claws de-clawed. This was done before we got them. Anyway. So I have OHM sitting on me, when suddenly my dog OB gets up off the couch. This startles the cat. And she somehow manages to scratch my right eye, the one that just two days ago got thai spice in it. Well, not in my right eye, but right on the eyebrow, twice, and once right below the eye, in that fleshy area below the eye. Now my eye is stinging like a mother. Yeah me.

In other news, if I could, I would get those back claws taken out as well. My cats are inside cats. They have no need for them.

Probably a topic for Hot Topics, but I hate it when people get their cats de-clawed. The process removes the first joint of the animal's toes. I'm no PETA member, but I just think it's really wrong to do. Have you tried having the cat's claws trimmed?

I am not sure you are right about that, about the way they do it, but in all the cats I have had, NONE have noticed that they don't have front claws, they still go up to things and 'scratch' at them. All have been indoor cats, BTW.
What I have not done, is take them off the back claws, but after tonight, it's tempting.

Not sure you can take the back claws. And yeah, we trim them, but they grow back, and they are sharp suckers. Trim the dogs too, but they have all claws. Not sure I have ever heard of a dog being de-clawed.

As to the whole PETA thing, I am no member, don't care for them much, but don't care if PETA does what they do, as long as they stay out of my way, so to speak.

I'm all for no need for Hot Topics on this, either!
