my new aquarium is doing good i suppose. i've been piecing it together bit by bit. got the plants last week and today i bought plant fertilizer. turns out with all the hubbub my PH took a JUMP up so i got PH down today. Also got this stuff called Prime which smells like ...like ...omg it's awful. It adds slimecoat for the fishes and also lowers nitrites and junk with just a few drops. Good stuff. One fish died so far. no biggie though. here is the tank about 2min ago. I added a blue light so the plants get some growth and it looks more natural. Next inahbitants will be Alphonso and i'm buying a corycat and i think a frog too. Debating a snail, but i don't feel like breeding snails. Asexual pets are not too cool.

*dizzy*

Between not eating today ... and cleaning both the bathroom floor and kitchen floor TWICE with bleach and water... I feel sick. However, the bleach got MOST of the red off the floor. I will go over it again when I move out. Bleach in wounds hurts.... zzzzzzz

If I may ask Larissa, why are you moving? Especially since you stay at the same complex?

Probably the same reason Steph and i are likely to move next year within the same complex. More space. We want to upgrade to a larger unit. We want a den.

The aquarium looks great!now the only thing you are missing, is an algae eater fish, when we had aquariums they were really good at keeping the tank clean, and clear of algae

I live in an affordable unit. To stay in this unit, I would have to make under $30,000 a year. But, I make more now. So, I gotta move. Which stinks.

Aha, but silly question from the foreign girl. What's a den exactly?
I've heard of it before, but can't exactly place it.

That sure stinks! Even with your recent cut on working hours, you still need to move?

Can I ask where you got your puppy?

If it was from a breeder, it should have come with a health guarantee.

I would contact the breeder asap as they should be responsible for the vet bills.

If you got it from a pet store...

Oh, don't worry about it. Everyone flying *inside* the US is treated as a terrorist as well. It's called "Security Theater". It makes it *look* like you're safe. After all, they look for all the things they should have looked for before (knifes, box cutters, bottles of liquid, flammable shoelaces), and since everyone knows that all terrorist always repeats what they've always done in the past, we're all safe now.

Within a specific period of time (seconds?) I will get an answer that I have the "all clear" to board a plane and head out to the US.

Now comes the fun part. Since I am cheap and travel on standby basis I can't say for certain I will be on the flight I mentioned 72 hours ago

Can you blame them? We can't afford to be lenient anymore. That's what got the Twin Towers knocked down and the Pentagon crashed into I do understand your frustration though but to do things the way they used to be would make it way too easy for bad people to do bad things.

Good Morning America could be one of the worst shows on TV.

All the Morning "news" shows suck. Lame "infotainment"; high on fluff, low on actual news content. How many storing on the octo-mom today?

No it isn't. People not doing their jobs is what made this happen, not leniency. Sloppiness from the people checking passports and travel documents all the way to the CIC on top is what caused the attackes on 9/11.

Criminals and terrorists are caught through investigation and information gathering and analisys. One does not gather information shining a flashlight up someones a** at the airport. That is called "Security theater". Making everyone submit to pointless inspections makes everyone feel more safe because "someone is doing something", but it doesn't really accomplish anything.

Please check Bruce Schneier's blog at http://www.schneier.com/blog/ and read what he says about airport security...

I never said anything about shining a security light up someone's ass. I didn't think we were talking about that. I never thought we were even talking about that and I did not mention specifically who was at fault. Sure it is the fault of a lot of people and due to some people's laziness certain things need to be a bit more strict to keep the terrorists from getting through so easily.
And IMO the laziness led to leniency. They don't feel like doing their jobs. And because they can't really properly pick out who is doing their jobs to the fullest and who are not they have to add other security measures. Sucks but it's needed. So my answer was just brief, not wrong. I wasn't trying to get into a whole discussion on the subject
