I keep missing that documentary, but I've read that she's pretty amazing in it as far as opening up and showing true emotion. She's always been hot to me; even bald w/crazy eyes!

Thanks! My parents are going to go ahead and get one of those pre-paid, pre-planned situations so all we'll have to do is make a few phone calls and its taken care of.

You know...Red IS a power color! I think I just wanted something a little different.

Not that I expect you to be molesting it or anything, but how does it do with finger prints on the cover? That's one of the main reasons I went with the Spring Green over the blue.

Does this mean that eggs/possible babies are in here future? My female parakeet became egg bound and died.

Or could it be that Oliver is gay? If so, would you send him to Big Gay Al's Big Gay Animal Sanctuary?

That happened to my friend's cockatiel a long time ago. They thought he was a she for the longest time until they came home to find she had died due to being egg bound

I mostly use mine UNDER my desk and have an external monitor and keyboard hooked up. It doesn't really show fingerprints...it's a kind-of soft matte rubbery finish...kinda like the Beetle dashes. It's nice. This is, of course, assuming they haven't changed them since I bought mine several months ago.

Unless she got preggo from last night, no. She's going to be separated from Oliver. Oliver humps anything that moves, so the males and females are separated. Nigel(la) is now going to live with the ladies in the lower level of the cage. I do not want 'keet babies. Mina (one of our other females) popped out seven eggs over the course of several months. No more eggs for her!

Egg binding is a very serious concern for female birds and I don't want them to be cranking out all kinds of eggs. Separation is best. Oliver can still flirt through the bars.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Ha! No, I've long suspected Nigel was a female due to her brown cere, but it always had some blue in it, too. Last night's actions and a bird forum confirms HE is a SHE. So we now have three female keets and one male keet.

Yeah, it can be a serious problem for some birds. Some females will lay eggs even without a male present.

So I realized last night while talking to my friend on the phone, I don't really have any real-life friends. I've lost two friends (grown apart) in the last year and now, I'm growing apart from my best friend (it's complicated). I think I become most aware of this during the winter months...Mike's gone at hockey games all the time...and I have nothing to do. I have no friends here. I have work friends, but outside of work, not so much. And since I don't have (nor won't have) kids, that puts me out of a lot of social networks. Where are the people like me?

I have a sneaking suspicion that I won't be having kids either.
Part of me wants 'em but a bigger part is starting to think that by the time I'm really ready it will be a little late.

I'm starting to feel this way as well. I have ONE single/unattached/kid-free friend left in my circle of friends here. Everyone else got the hell out, got hitched, or got knocked up.

Why not now? Now's as good a time as any!

Same here. I need smart, non-kids, non-attached types. Married or involved is OK, but damn, no one is ever available for anything.

I don't typically go to bars but that seems to be where all the non-kid people gravitate to. I wouldn't mind going for SOME of the live music, but only where smoking is banned. I don't want to leave smelling like an ash tray!

Yeah, I don't do bars. I don't smoke anymore, either. But mainly, I just don't have anyone to go with. I make an awesome friend! I'm fun! But once people have kids, outside of work social time is usually out of the picture. Even people with older kids seem to have a hard time making time for social time.

I don't need a BFF either, just someone to go and get coffee with every now and again. How does a 33 year-old person with no kids make new friends anyhow? Take out a personal ad?

I'm trying to get healthy before I have children. I don't want Vinny and or a baby to be put in the position that my father and my sister and I were put in when my mother died from complications. Sure, it was the doctor's and anesthesiologists faults but I truly believe that if she was healthy or at least healthier than she was (she was very overweight, had gestational diabetes and preeclampsia) she would still be here.
So, I'm taking several steps to ensure that if I do have children that I won't leave them behind too soon. If I don't have children at least I know I'll be around for a while so Vinny and I will be two old fogeys together and then we can just spoil our neices and nephews. Whatever happens, I want to be healthy for it

Trust me, I love children and I definitely do want them but sometimes what we want and what life deals us are two different things.

I hear ya'. It's the responsible thing to do. Part of me wants to have kids just to balance out all the idiots who have kids. You know, like the Palins. But seriously, we need more smart people contributing to the gene pool! You're healthy enough Amy, get crackin'!

Well...like I said...it's not that we're trying but we're not preventing it, either Whatever happens happens. But...someone doesn't want me to right now, apparently. Nothing has happened! Is it me? Do Vinny's boys not know how to swim?

Silly...I know you got tired of hearing that.
But I would be kind of expecting it if I'm doing things to make it happen, ya know? Don't think there will be an immaculate conception in my house any time soon
