It would lock up about 15-20 seconds after logging into windows. I don't download ANY music, movies, random pictures, etc with my laptop. Its STRICTLY for looking at cars, email, the .org/chat. I have a paid subscription to McAfee so I shouldn't have any viruses. I tried system restore, which failed to yield any results - the only success I've had was with launching windows in 'safe mode w/connectivity' but there's the ANNOYING no sound issue.

I guess I'm gonna have to call them back because now I don't have SQUAT on my laptop.

Gotta look at professional-like and whatnot.

My hair is actually really thick. It's just that my hairline is afraid of my face... or my face is slowly performing the classic "pincer" attack on my hair.

Thick hair here too. Part of the reason I had cut it from middle of back length to above shoulders. I still go through a lot of shampoo. Now, it is a little longer than shoulder length ... and takes 45 minutes to curl. OY!

I have to use a TON of hair spray for it to hold. Mine is wavy too. It drives me nuts. I straighten it most days .... but just started curling it for something new.

I need to get more pictures transfered from myspace to flick, so I can upload them here on the .org at work. Ugh.

Mines always changing. I just wish I could have time to curl it for something new. Hairspray is the best defence with stubborn hair. What kind do you use?

After. "We" wiped my hard drive and they were suppose to call back and walk me through the re-installation of everything. I have all of the CDs and stuff to do so, and could probably do it myself - I'm just unsure of the correct "order" to install stuff.

Install drivers in this order:
1. Network drivers (so you can get to the internet to get all the other drivers)
2. Download and install "chipset drivers" for your laptop from Dell's website.
3. Download and install newest network drivers (wired and wireless) from Dells Website
4. Download and install:
4a: Display/Video drivers
4b: Audio drivers
4c: Anything else.
5. Defragment harddrive (try jkdefrag. It takes a while, but it does a great job). Run it twice!
6. Install applications.
7. Install and update Anti-Virus software.
8. Defragment harddrive.
9. Apply all MS patches for everything like this:
9a. Install latest service pack first.
9b. Update to IE 8 second.
9c. Apply all other patches.
10. Defragment the harddrive again.

9. Apply all MS patches for everything like this:

9b. Update to ANY BROWSER other than IE. (Firefox, comet bird, opera, chrome (read the elua and shrug), i would even recommend safari over IE if you don't like anything else. Seriously, stay AWAY form IE.)
9c. Apply all other patches.
10. Defragment the harddrive again.
I've re-done a LOT of computers, and the order of which i install the drivers doesn't really matter. If you are having freezing problems, first i'd re-seat your memory. If it is a driver issue, and you have the latest ones, try finding an older version. I know it sounds stupid, but updated drivers sometimes don't always work as good as older ones.

oh yeah, i fixed a really fatal flaw in your list.

I also never defrag... but i format my boot drives so much that it probably doesn't matter.

Yeah. I dislike IE like crazy. It is slower IMO, and crashes more often. I LOVE Firefox. :3

Even if you don't like IE, updating to the latest version is still recommended, as Windows uses IE or parts of IE for communicating with Microsoft (Patch downloads, etc.)

I defrag every night, except on my laptop, which is usually off at night.

In other news, oh, how I just really really wish I could travel back in time, so I could just slap myself for all the Coke I used to drink, so maybe I would be healthier now.

Diabetes sucks.
