I hate computers that don't know what they are doing. SO I have this overdraft protection on my checking account. WHICH, I need what with the medical bills piling up. But every month, like clock work, the deposit goes in. I got a letter which said, (dated August 31), that I needed to make a deposit within ten days. And lo, on the first, as always, the deposit went in.

And just today, I get this notice that my insurance check bounced. I said, WTF? And looked into it online. Where online it says that the deposit was made as it should have been, and the insurance check went in after that, and so you would think no problem, but for reasons that I have to wait to Monday to find out about, the check was bounced back. Which makes zero sense, and the only thing I can figure is the computers screwed up...

Oy.

And in other news, it's pouring like boners popping at a strip show.

I attended [and survived] my first mud bog tonight! I think I earned my redneck badge or something.

Talk to your boss about a raise? It might not be the best timing after just getting written up. I was ALMOST written up about 10 years ago when I worked at Service Merchandise. I was the ONLY employee on the 'floor' that night, meaning I had to answer customer's questions on products AND run the register and I wasn't able to get a list of 'chores' my manager wanted done that night. She took me to the office and pulled out the write-up that she wanted me to sign and I quit immediately. We ended up getting into a 'passionate discussion' and I hurled my car keys in her general direction. Before she could accept my resignation, I had to put in writing that I quit, so I ended up going next door and buying a poster board. I was quite the smart ass back then...WAAAAAAAY more hot-tempered/mouthy than I am now. She ended up pissing a lot of people off and someone sprayed oven cleaner on her car. Peeled the paint right off.

I wrote it right then. As I wrote it (and I'm serious here), I was wondering what YOU, specifically you, would think; would you like it, would you hate it, would it make you laugh...so if I got a reaction, then I did my job.

I'm back from running the Ikea Half Marathon. No, I didn't have to put the course together.

But I did finish 3 minutes faster than last year, so not bad. Averaged 8:11 a mile.

I have two more half marathons over the next two months. Hopefully I can do even better.

Went to the 10 year high school reunion last night. Weird. People either changed a lot (weight gain, weight loss, wheel chair, etc.) or not at all. The people who talked to me in HS talked to me ... those who did not ... didn't. LOL They all stayed huddled together in their 'support groups'. :P Oh well ... I dont care. Just weird.

Congratulations! I still don't know how you run an entire marathon, but kudos for doing so. I plan to run 9 miles this evening but afterward I'll be ready for a nap.

That's part of the reason why I didn't go to mine...Although there were one or two people that I'd like to push their wheelchair down a flight of stairs - but I'll probably have to wait another 50 years to do so...or go all Tonya Harding on them first.

Ouch! How'd you do that? I bit into a salad on a fork a few years ago and hit the fork cracking my tooth. I thought I was immediately going to throw up because of the pain and my overwhelming fear of anything bad happening to my teeth. Being from KY and having ALL (wisdom teeth included) of my teeth and never having a cavity is quite rare. The last I knew, we're #2 in the nation for tooth loss.

Oh for sure, the nap always comes after one of these long runs. If you can run 9 miles, there's no reason you couldn't do a half marathon right now. You'd surprise yourself.

But listen to this. At the finish, while waiting for some friends, we were talking to this guy. A couple years ago, he and his wife decided to get healthy. He quit smoking, and she started to lose weight.

In March of 2008, they ran their first marathon. They've since run 15 marathons, and this was their third half. They were actually driving to Erie tonight and running another half marathon tomorrow. To date, she's lost 116 lbs.

Now, I know this is NOT a good thing to do to your body, WAY too much stress on it. However, it's pretty damn impressive!

My teeth are crap. I didn't even bite into anything hard or crunchy ... until I bit into a big (relatively speaking) piece of tooth.

That is AMAZING, I have since quit smoking approx 3 weeks ago and still going strong. Boyfriend and I are going garage sale hunting sunday morning for bicycles. We have a track that is about 3 miles around our little island here in town on the lake, it's quite pretty, and since we both have bad knees, bikes seemed the logical explanation.

Anyone got a bike rack for a beetle they dont want?

I've yet to have a cavity, broken tooth, or any dental issues, and I'm 21. *knocks on wood*
Although I have lots of crowding, and they aren't very white from the last 6 or so years of smoking and my addiction to espresso...

Dr. Shannon recommends Crest White Strips and a whitening mouth wash.

Good for them! It must get more difficult to succeed in lifestyle changes the older you get.

Good thing you quit then. I will lose the remaining six original teeth I have in the upper part of my mouth sometime soon, and have a permanent denture in there. Of course my loss is a combination plate of diabetes, and cancer. And I never smoked.

In other news, we go almost all summer with very little rain, and now in the last 24 hours, we get tons. Flash flooding abounds. I think I will go to the store, and get the fixings for Sloppy Joes. Yesh, comfort food.
