A modern day Sodom and Gomorrah?
Too bad for your laptop, but at least you have other means to connect to the interwebs.

Yes, a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah, that's what the country I live in can be called

I think I'm just going to go buy a cheap laptop. The ONLY thing I used my laptop for was for emailing, playing on the .org, and looking at cars. It was a middle-level Dell (around $700) and my parents bought two CHEAP laptops for under $300 @ Wal-Mart that are at least assembled better than mine.

Sodom and Gomorrah sounds fun!

Wow, that IS cheap!

Yup, it's good living here
Buying soft alcohol (aka beer) when you're 16. Liquour from 18 and up.
Cigarettes I think also 16 and up.
A driver's license from 18 and up.
Let me think, what else ....
Oh yes, going to bars or discos at 16 or even younger if your parents allow (and most seem to do nowadays).

Just buy a new harddrive for <$100. Plug it in, re-install windows from the CDs you got from Dell and you're good to go (assuming it's the hard drive that's done, not the hard drive controller on the boards).

The monitor is broke/detached at one of the hinges that holds the screen in place. The Inspirion Laptops are just put together crapily.

About to leave Mini - St Paul... thought I'd check in and let everyone know that I hate running from terminal to terminal.

People should never pose for pictures that they don't want the entire world to see.

My 2.xxx year old Dell Inspiron is holding up very nicely. The only thing wacky about it is the fact that the cable that plugs into the wall, unplugs itself from the back of the laptop. HA! it just falls out. :P

It is so warm in my parents house right now that my hands are swollen. My dad is getting the flu/not feeling well so, he has the chills ... and turned the heat up to 73*.

Glad yours is holding up better than mine! My cord does that as well. Mine hasn't really taken any abuse. Its fallen backward off my bed once. I dunno wtf its deal is. I started having hard drive issues about 6 months in. I don't have a single song/video downloaded to it. Just various pictures of vehicles & vacations. I still might call Dell and see if they will do warranty work on the hard drive since its a "pre-existing" issue that they've helped me with in the past (that almost sounds like part of the healthcare debate).
