Default I got another job!!!

Just wanted to share my excitement. I still have my current job, but as some of you know, our office will be shutting down next year. They should be giving me my notice any time now. So I've been on the hunt for something else ever since we found out. Well, this isn't a full time job, but it's a fun job that for right now is bringing in extra income. I will be marketing Science Diet brand pet food at local PetSmarts and PetCos. It will be worked in 4 hour shifts on the weekend and I think I'll have two stores to start. So 9 hours each week (1/2 administrative time is automatically given). So, this job will be enough to continue making my car payment and insurance when I lose my full time job at Reynolds. I'm excited because I can't wait to educate and excite people about what I believe is some of the BEST pet food out there! I give out coupons and brochures. And I get a voucher for a free bag of pet food each month, plus I can use the coupons as well! And I can pick up hours from other marketers if they are going out of town or what-not.

I'm really excited because this will be my fun job. This company has been asked and did sign a contract to do this marketing for atleast another 5 years. So if nothing else, this will be a very stable job! I can't wait to get into the stores and talk to people, play with their pets and just have a good time. I'm sure those 4 hours will just FLY by! And I can choose what time and what days to do the work. Thursday - Sunday! I'm excited.

On a side note, I know like 3 or 4 people now who've gotten jobs recently. Does this mean the economy is beginning to turn around?

That's awesome, Michelle! The fun thing about that is you will be in a pet store, where people are coming specifically to shop for pet supplies. I did a similar thing for a product at Sam's Club and was miserable because nobody was really interested in the product. It would have gone over much better in a specialty store! It is fun to talk to people, though, and I would love the pet aspect of it, too. Sounds like you are going to have tons of fun, and be able to maybe get some of those mods done for Probie!

Congrats. I used to do that with Nutro part time on the weekends. It was a lot of fun. People are generally happy and in a good mood in pet stores and loving animals makes it even easier. I remember I would look forward to chit chatting with other reps from Science Diet, Blue, etc. The four hour shifts would fly by.

Thanks guys! I'm super excited about this. This offers me some peace of mind. This job will atleast allow me to keep Probie if I dont' get severance and can't find a job right away. If nothing else it'll be fun. I can talk to people about something that I know. And I love educating people about their animals, because it's something that most people don't know. I love it. And thankfully, I love Science Diet too! So this is a win/win I think.
