Default Pomelo's big day out with a Poll!

3:02pm Pomelo and I set out for a country lane adventure to find some fresh veg for dinner.

3:15pm The driver's side window is being slow so I stop at Autozone for some lube.

3:35pm I pull into BK and grab a large iced tea and a whopper jr. We sit there awhile listening to inane drive time radio.

3:50pm Pomelo and I are cruising the country side listening to tunes and enjoying the sites.

4:50pm I give up on finding a veg stand I haven't tried before and head back towards the one near my house I've used every summer for years. I hang a quick left shift up through the gears and BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG *grind grind grind grind grind* coast to the side of the road as I have no drive.

4:51pm I start playing around with putting the clutch in and out to see if it effects the noises. Clutch in means no noise. Clutch out means whap whap whap grind grind grind whir whir whir.

5:05pm I call AAA and they say 6:45pm at the earliest.

5:30pm I call Jose and chat him up for a while.

5:45pm It dawns on me that 500 feet ahead is where I had my first car accident when I was 16 years old. I'd totally lied to Mom about it and said the dog got caught in the steering wheel when in fact it was me being a jack ass and losing control. Last night I'd thought about that moment for the first time in 20 years. I felt so guilty I decided I needed to call Mom and finally come clean.

6:30 no tow truck but Mom shows up to hang out while we wait. I tell her the truth and then realize that I am parked at the entrance of the access road where I shot "Pomelo of the corn". Which happens to be the very picture that a certain org member used for September on the calender she gave me.

6:35 I'm a little freaked out.

7:45 AAA says that the tow truck will be another 20 minutes... again.

Oh, I am sorry that your poor baby bug has a problem.
Your story is Awesome though, and the pics are GREAT too.
I hope the car is better soon. Wishing you the best of luck!

P.S. I think you should maybe not fire AAA, but at least yell at them. They should know when their contractors drop the ball.
I used to work for them, so I know they would be interested in this info., because it reflects on them. Although I was not part of Roadside service, I was in travel.

Anyway... think positive my friend.
Not voting in the poll, because I have no clue.

I too thought this. I voted trans though since it's part of it?
Poor Tom, I hope it's something simple, though with these cars it's usually not Did Mom stay the whole time? I sooooo would have been on the horn to AAA every 1/2 hour. Def call and complain. Maybe they'll give you a credit or a gift card or something for your trouble.

Update II

9:30am Mike called with the diagnosis and the news that the parts are in stock and can be completed today.

2:25pm Mike leaves a message

2:45pm I call Mike and discover Pomelo is ready for pick up and they threw in a car wash.

I'm not giving the details of the repair for another 24 hours or so. I want to see what y'all think it is.

hint: $517 and change
