It's been a hard winter so far. I hope everyone is staying warm out there.

Great pics!

We too have a hard winter. It's been freezing now for about 2 weeks in a row, with lots of snow and wind.

Can't wait for the summer

While we don't have snow here, we've had 18 degree nights with single digit wind-chills.
And like your neat pix, we have an abundance of cardinals and others whom we keep well-fed with 2 feeders - it's chipping ice from the bird bath that gets old.

We have had freezing temperatures too here in Canada for the past few weeks. We have not been hit with a lot of snow, but cold temperatures have been here for a while now.
Today it hit a low of -20 degrees celsius w/ the wind chill, and an "extreme cold weather alert" was issued. My car is so dirty that the license plates are not even readable, but it is WAY too cold to wash her.

The Northern Front Range in Colorado has had a cold winter. The high temps stayed just above 0 for about a week in December and we've had similar temps for a day or two at a time. Snow hasn't been so bad. No 3 foot blizzards like in previous years. But it is winter in Colorado and summer will be here before we know it...

GREAT pictures; love them both but especially the Cardinal. Beautiful bird.

I've been feeding the birds for over two weeks. There is no ground here that isn't covered with snow.

We have used nearly 75 lbs of black oil sunflower seeds so far this winter. Lots of hungry birds.

Once again you have taken a couple of stunning pics. Are you a Professional Photographer?

It was 16 here in San Antonio in the wee hours of Sat morning. This is about as insane as the 100+ degrees we had almost all summer. This is the coldest its been in the 14 years I've been here. I saw a sheet of ice over a pond today. Never seen that in SA before.

I'm far from being a professional. I'm really just an old sheetmetal fabricator by trade. I just shoot snapshots for fun.

We got down to 0 degrees last night. Hopefully today we will begin a little warm up.

Well, for an old sheetmetal man, you do all right at photography.

That is one of the best pictures of a Cardinal I've ever seen.

SixChuter Those pics are AWESOME! I have always wanted to see a cardinal bird. I mean a real one, not just a picture. I think they are SOoooo beautiful. We don't have them in Colorado though.

I've got cardinals (they are Ohio's state bird afterall), bluejays and the finches are starting to get really yellow now. I feed the birds and squirrels as entertainment for our cats.
