Yes, I have found my true love. We've been together since I was 17 and in November we will celebrate our 26th anniversary. He's an amazing man- I always tell people that he is one of the Good Ones- and they are few and far between. The only thing wrong with him is that he hasn't changed one iota physically since I've known him, which makes me look so completely average (in my 40s now)

He just was out of town on business for two weeks and I was absolutely miserable without him. I made sure he knew I was glad for him to be home though

Don't ever give up, those of you who are still looking. Love hides in unsuspecting places sometimes!
Hey congrats! I know how you feel. My Uncle, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago, before he died they had their 50th anniversary. Each one said something about the other in the repeating of the vows. I'll never forget what he said. "Everytime I look at my sweetheart I see the beautiful 16 year old girl I fell in love with. There wasn't a dry eye in the place.

Aww this is such a sweet thread. I know I already posted before, but I would like to think that I have found "THE" one. There are so many things that would have made it next to impossible for us to be together that the fact that we are together must mean something. First off, our age difference. Matt and I have a 11 1/2 year age difference....actually 11 years 6 months and 6 days to be exact. Then the fact that he lived inside the perimeter and I never ventured that way at all. Between those two things, we would have probably never crossed paths. But in many ways we are a lot a like, have a lot of the same qualities, and value things the same. So, I'd like to think that against all odds, we've come together because that's how it's supposed to be. Now, we've had our ups and downs for sure...and we'll be approaching 3 years dating in September. Even through all the ups and downs, we're still together. And I think through that it has made us stronger. Now, would I like to skip the downs? Absolutely! But I can't. I have learned a lot about him, as well as myself through our down times, and that just makes our up times that much better. I try to argue less and listen more... but I'm an Aries so I can only do so much! lol j/k

Here's hoping that times will get better and I look forward to saying that I found "THE" one and celebrating many many many anniversaries with him!

Great post Michelle!! I personally don't think age has anything to do with it at all. I love the ups and downs also. I heard a great speaker once that said what if you went to the symphony and all they played as little happy high notes. Just the little happy notes with no crash of the cymbol and theh pathos of the low notes. it takes the negatives in life to make us love the positives, like you said, they made you see a side of him you might never of seen otherwise. Good Luck
!
