Default Have You Found the Love of your Life?

The wife and I were watching the old movie "It Could Happen" the other night, the one where Nichols Cage promises to share half the lottery winnings the next day, if he won. Yeah, it was more like a chick flick, (kinda) but the message in it is timeless. We discussed the movie and the true meaning. That being when you find the love of your life, that special person, the person you feel that you were meant to be with, there will come a time that you realize it. Many people haven't met that person yet, and I hope, many have. I was just wondering who has "that" person in their lives? What do you think it means? True love?

My life is almost over, and I am sad to say, I have not found my true love. (well, I thought I did, but I guess it wasn't)

first of all, I call potato on "life is almost over". You aren't THAT old yet.
Just because you've stop LIVING life doesn't mean there isn't living to be done

Some of the HAPPIEST people I know, didn't find that "special someone" until they hit their late 50's, early 60's. A few, not until they were 70.

But remember, every bad relationship or bump in the road, it's like.. training wheels for a relationship. All that bad junk along the way prepares you for a GOOD relationship

And, as for me.. I may have found the right one.. THE one.
I've been dating for 6 months now.. and .. well, I can easily say I've never felt this happy about someone.

I thought I did when I was 18 but that turned out to be a not...I am not saying my bf is or isn't the one and only, he could be but we are young and you never know what could happen, I could see us together for a very very long time, I am in love with him and he with me...I am just thankful that I have him at this moment in my life, he is amazing to me and I couldn't ask for anything better and I wouldn't change the past 2 1/2 years of my life for anything, the good and the bad...we have been through quite a bit together and I always thank God for him

I know I am only 22 but like I said, you never know

And Deb, I agree with Stephen

I found her 12 years ago just next door to me.
Now for the past 10 years we had leave all together with her 3 daughters and my 2 kids (now all 5 young adults). Lets say we had rough times but more good souvenirs

This June 19th we are getting married by our 5 kiddos

Hmm.... Interesting topic. Have you found the love of your life? Did I find my soul mate? Am I happy? Really what does true love mean? Just curious. Just celebrated 21 yrs of being married, but did I marry the love of my life? Not sure there is a correct answer to this. If I married the love of my life she would look something like this.

Name: 56oval.jpg
Views: 178
Size: 27.9 KB

And we would have some of the oddest looking children you ever laid eyes on.

Seriously though I am happy, would'nt trade my wife for anything, she's put up with me this long no sense in trading her in. And really how many people ever get the chance of finding their true soul mate. Not many I suspect.

I have had 4 women in my life and I have never felt this way. I know some of you will roll your eyes because this is mushy, but I want to make it clear how I know I found it. When she walks into a room, my whole countenance changes, no matter if we are going through a problem with one of the kids or grandkids, a financial problem, or whatever, I still smile when she comes in. I know it is real to me, because, it's like she is a part of me, when she isn't around, I don't feel like a whold person. I suppose, Biblically it's suppose to happen that way, but I never thought of it in that fashion. We have never let the sun go down if we are miffed or angry, we settle it. I truly believe that special person trly does "complete" me

I believe there can be many "the one"s and many soulmates for each of us. So while I can't say I believe in the "love of your life" for me, I'm more than happy to be with the man I'm with.

And Deb, your life is not almost over. I agree with Stephen whole-heartedly!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

I've had two. The first one I didn't get to keep (I wouldn't convert) but the second one married me.

I found what I thought was the love of my life several times but not until the last one left did I actually find out what the love of my life really means and that is me. I found me and I'm in love.

I don't need someone to be complete and have had a couple of interesting relationships since this began. I got more out of those brief encounters than all the others combined because I was finally truly open to the expeirence. Maybe I will find someone to share my remaining time with and maybe I won't. It doesn't really matter anymore since I'm finally happy with who I am.

I found mine almost 8 years ago. I almost threw it all away because I was an idiot. I thought he was too good to be true so I did a lot of stupid things to make him mad at me so he would leave me and lo and behold...he didn't because he still loved me and he knew that I wasn't being me. Our rough patch taught me a lot about myself and him. It helped me to appreciate what a wonderful man he is and how loving supportive and caring he is. I still wonder how I could have even thought of ever wanting anyone else but him. He stuck by me through my worst and I will be forever grateful to him. This June 15th we'll be married 2 years and my only regret is that I didn't marry him sooner...but everything happens for a reason.
